Class Dojo??

Does anyone use Class Dojo? I know we have several teachers that use the app, but I was wondering if any school nurses had set this up for their school, and how it was received for nursing? ? Is there a nursing app one that people use?

Just trying to think of way to contact parents! I had to have a teacher use her Dojo to get a parent that want picking up the phone, but responds well to the app.

Good idea?? Or waste of time??

We are a k-6 school in an inner city.

Thanks!! (5 days left.....)

I'd be interested to find out too. It would be nice to have a way to pass on non-emergent info.

3 more wake ups for me, Wed, Thur, and Fri are minimum day for the students.

I use dojo and it is very helpful. All of our teachers have dojo accounts. They set up their classroom (meaning they add the students and invite the parents to join) and then they "share" the classroom with me and the principals so we can message the parents as well. The teachers send a lot of info via dojo messages so parents are usually quick to open them. Other than the initial set up of an account for me to get started, there is no work for me. I use it when I haven't been able to reach a parent for pick-up or when I just need to get a non-urgent message to them. What is really nice is that dojo shows you that the message has been read and what time - no more "sorry I didn't get the message". Also, my student population has a lot of parents who do not speak english. So I can message them in dojo and it will translate into their primary language. They can then respond in their language and dojo can translate it into english for me. I would definitely recommend it.

i have some teachers that use it. i have others that use blooms or others that i don't know the name of. I have never really looked into seeing if they would apply to a nurse's office. My feeling is that if i had to add the whole school to an app, it may be cumbersome, where a classroom size group is probably more managable. Though i may be waay offbase - i may be fine. Usually, if i know a teacher uses it and i've made my ceremonial phone calls, i'll have them send a message on their app too.

Did you sign up as a teacher or leader?

I love DoJo!!! It is so easy to send a quick message to a parent. If your school has it, the teachers just have to add you and you are all set. Super easy and helpful. I can also send out a message to every parent in one easy step. Flu season reminders, dentist is coming reminders, make sure you return your puberty permission slip reminders, etc......

Did you sign up as a teacher? I don’t see an option to sign up as a nurse.

I have been using it for years so I cannot remember but I am pretty sure I signed up as a teacher. I also love the feature that shows us if the parent opened it or not.

I signed up in the app as a teacher. After that it was simply a matter or having each teacher (who already created their "classroom" in the app) share their class with me. There was no work on my part.
