Clackamas Community College (CCC) class of 2016 cohort

U.S.A. Oregon

Hello! I thought I could start this thread to gather as many CCC nursing students who were just accepted into the program. I figured we could share our stories and get ready for our world as nursing students at Clackamas! Congrats to everyone and let's begin this journey! I am so excited!

I just sent in my letter of intent for CCC. I work with 2 nurses who went to CCC and they had great things to say about their program. The interview and application process really impressed me. I also live much closer to PCC so the commute will be interesting but I'm sure it will be worth it. Cant wait for orientation and to put names to faces :nurse:

I should send mind in. I went to look at stethoscopes today. Where do you go to buy one? I don't know which one I should get!

So did you email them saying you plan on going or did you print that paper and mail it in? Also, if you emailed them did you just write and say you are going, we don't copy that paper and email it, right?

I actually did both, because I'm a little paranoid about paperwork. I filled out the form, scanned it and emailed it to Health Admissions then popped the paper copy in the mail.

okay, did you get a "got it" reply?

What about stethoscopes? Have a recommendation? I know Littmann, but I don't know which is best! I want something that will work for a long time.

I printed mine signed it scanned it and emailed it. I wasn't planning in mailing mine in. But kept the copy just in case. Im hoping to get and email saying they received it.

Hello everyone. I'll probably be joining the CCC 2016 cohort, but I'm waiting to hear from PCC to make my final decision. I got in to MHCC too, but I think I'm going to decline since I got such great vibes from CCC during my interview. What have you all heard that makes you skeptical about the nursing program at PCC? PCC would be a shorter commute for me than CCC (and less expensive too?) but I'm still leaning towards CCC at this point.

A lot of disorganized comments are what I have heard from PCC. I went to PCC for all my prereqs and when turning in apps I thought it was my first choice, after talking to ppl I changed my mind. Also, there was a post on the Oregon applicants forum that really made me seal the deal.

I've talked to a couple people in the PCC program they like it but say it feels unorganized from time to time and they have made a lot of faculty changes lately. I also looks at the NCLEX pass rates and PCC loses a lot of students throughout the program. But im sure it depends on how dedicated you are while in the program. Best of luck in your decision.

Good to know, thanks :-)
