Hi guys! I've noticed that there hasn't been a forum created for fall 2024 so I wanted to go ahead and start one!

I called again today and she looked at my application and said a comment about the chemistry. I was sure when I was applying that I took the right one and I jsut now looked for a course equivalency and couldn't find one. Since the course codes and the names of the chem courses at the schools were different it is very confusing. She said my application likely wouldn't be considered ?

Have you tried asking if we can send in unofficial transcripts to prove that we are in the process of completing gen chem? I'm hoping maybe they might be more lenient if enough people try but 😬 IDK

Hmm maybe I can. Do you mean taking gen chem right now right now? I wouldn't be able to take it till the Summer and I'm really wondering why so many people are having problems with the chemistry this time around. It didn't seem to be an issue in previous years. They should at least be lenient with the completion of it if it was an error on their part 😭

When did you obtain the copy of the previous prerequisite page?. Would it be too much to ask if I could see a copy of it too just to see if it's the one I used so I know I'm not crazy? 
 I too was sure I was being thorough in checking when I was preparing. UH Chem gen vs intro or  fundamentals vs foundations and because the names were so similar I checked a million times. I mean I could've still got it wrong but I took this class back in Spring 2023.

I was so sure too I took the correct chem too IDK when it started to be only general chem bc I swore they never specified!

I basically made a Google doc when I was taking my prereqs and listed all the schools and their requirements on it. I just copied and pasted exactly what it had said from the uthealth page at the time onto to the Google doc. It's a not a picture of it, but just word for word copied. I can share it with you if you would like! It just says "Chemistry (must include lab)" for the chem requirement. Honestly I had a friend who was taking general chem while I was in intro to chem and we basically studied the same things together so it really shouldn't be a big deal why they can't just take intro to chem as well bc its the same concepts.

I doubt it because when she emailed me she said that all required courses must be complete and submitted via transcript by the April 15th deadline. Like how are we supposed to have a class done in less than 2 weeks ://

I'm sure they won't do anything to help us. It just suck! What would be the next plan of action. Retake chem and apply for fall?

Yeah I doubt they'll do anyone to help us. I guess the next plan of action is to just retake it and reapply for the fall 😞

So we need to get all our prerequisites done by the application deadline, which is April 15?

They did have intro to chem or general chemistry in that transfer. It is unfair they are changing the requirement last minute. This should have been posted in the website at least a semester ago so that students can retake it. This school already gave me a hard time with transcript. I am not sure what they are going to say about chemistry now. I got into other school in med center. Might as well go there now because I am going for vacation in Summer and have no time to retake it.

Yeah I'm leaving the country right when second sessions start. It's extremely frustrating...which other school did you get into!
