Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Fall 2024 Pacesetter BSN

Published

Hi guys! I've noticed that there hasn't been a forum created for fall 2024 so I wanted to go ahead and start one!

I'm sure they won't do anything to help us. It just suck! What would be the next plan of action. Retake chem and apply for fall?

The next available semester would be Spring 2025 so I would take gen chem and the lab over the Summer and then apply by the deadline (sept 1). Or do a mini mester for it in May if you can't in the Summer. Sucks that one class delays when we wanted to start nursing school

So we need to get all our prerequisites done by the application deadline, which is April 15?

yup pretty much! They say on the website that "an application to our Pacesetter BSN track will be considered for admission if, at the application deadline, at least 48 prerequisite credit hours have been completed, 16 of which are in Anatomy Physiology, Chemistry, and Microbiology. Please note that if admission is offered, all prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of class."

A mini mester would be ideal for me too. Do you knwo which schools offer that?

I think lonestar and hcc offer a minimester in May! I would double check on hcc though I'm not 100% sure if they do or not

I checked lonestar and it looks like they do, however a lot of them are online only, which UT probably doesn't accept for chem. Now its a question of how far am I willing to drive to sell my life away to chem for a month... Doesnt look like hcc has any this time around however.

YALL I just got this email from one of the admissions ppl:

"In light of several issues surrounding the General Chem requirement, we are allowing Intro to Chem for Fall 2024 applicants.  You do not need to apply for Spring 2025, you will be reviewed for Fall 24 with the Intro to Chem. "

I'm assuming enough people must have reached out to them about the chem thing to change it!

Wowwww that's good news. Amazing they took our concern into consideration. I also saw in the website now that they take TEAS too.

Do you guys know when they announce acceptance? June 15?

I feel like its going to be at least end of may. SO LONG I feel like I might drop dead before then

Hi, I noticed they extended the deadline for Fall 2024 and wanted to ask how was the application process ? Did you have to submit a personal statement? I'm kinda behind on the application process but thought about giving it a shot.
