Hey all aspiring future RN's ! I'm transferring to City tech in fall 2020. Then I plan on applying to City Tech Spring 2021 RN program. I just need to take one more class MAT 1190. Does anyone else plan on applying? Current students in the RN program do you have any advice?
@D W only way I see it being different is if the application pool is smaller this upcoming semester due to covid. So it won't be as competitive but that is wishful thinking. You can always apply and worse case scenario if you don't get in take a higher level course and apply for fall 2021.

They're still figuring out how the clinical are going to be. The chances are that you might not go to the hospitals next semester because there's only limited hospitals that are currently taking nursing students and they're giving the 3rd and 4th semesters priority. For Spring 2021, the lectures are most likely going to be online. They're only putting in-person for now, but might change it later on.
Once you get into the program, you will have to wait until you get clearance from the registrar after they change your major on degree works. You won't be able to register until they have done so.

Thank u so much for the info. I was wondering because When I check The site, not all nursing classes are showing up. I wanted to at least get an idea of how the class schedule will look like. So if clinical won’t be at hospitals, how would it work online then. I believe it will be much harder learning online

No problem.
Yea, I think they're still trying to figure everything out. With this whole pandemic going on, everything is a mess. All the first semester students are assigned to the same long-term hospital but they weren't taking any students this semester and I'm not too sure they will for Spring 2021. For this semester, they had us buy a textbook with the virtual simulations and that's how we did the clinicals online.
Learning online is definitely much harder especially with the limited resources we have. Somehow we just got to make it work. I am over this whole online situation as well, but I guess it's the new normal for now. I hope by the future semesters they will have everything figured out.

I think they are talking about getting us into classroom labs to make up for not being able to go to the hospitals.

@D W I think its a gamble depending on the application pool for the semester honestly.
