Hey all aspiring future RN's ! I'm transferring to City tech in fall 2020. Then I plan on applying to City Tech Spring 2021 RN program. I just need to take one more class MAT 1190. Does anyone else plan on applying? Current students in the RN program do you have any advice?

Thanks for the information. I calculated my pre req GPA and it says it would be 3.55. I wanted to ask, what grade did you get in your TEAS? Is there something you recommend to study for it? I'm nervous about taking it since I'm so close to the cut off. I don't want to mess up.
Hey @Lauraxoxo,
Your GPA is good, but as I said before, the GPA changes every semester. I'm just going based on the past few semesters in terms of the cut-off mark. My TEAS score was around 72, however, as long as you meet the minimum passing score, the department doesn't really care what score you've earned. Your TEAS score only comes into play if for example the cut-off mark is 3.5 and there are 6 students with the same GPA with only 4 seats left then the dept would base it off your TEAS score to fill up those 4 seats remaining. Personally for me, the reading and the math where both my strong subjects so I just concentrated on those. I also tell people to really focus on both reading and math as they are the easier sections on the exam.
Hope this helps!

I believe you can but there is an extra fee to transfer your TEAS score. Keep in mind that city tech only considers the TEAS score that is taken within 1 year.

Hey there,
I believe you can use a TEAS scores from a different school as long as its within a year. You shouldn't be charged a fee because city tech doesn't accept your transcript directly from ATI. You have to manually print out your transcript yourself and send it over to the nursing department therefore not owing a fee. Regarding the twice overall thing, I'm not too sure how that works, but what I do now is when you go to download your individual performance Transcript report it does tell you on the upper left side how many attempts you've taken for the exam. I would email the nursing department and ask them about their policy in regards to that.
hope this helps!
@B20 basically what im saying is I took the TEAS in KBCC in 2015 and then after I enrolled to city tech I have taken it ( two times in city tech) the most recent was last month and I have gotten a 75 on my score. I wasn’t really in school for a while. But I read the TEAS application online for city tech and it says. I may only take the TEAS once for every semester and twice overall. Do you think that means overall for city tech or for overall in my life? I dint think city tech would also count my TEAS from another school as a first attempt
@Farhan3g I see what you're saying now, I would email the nursing dept and explain the situation. In that case, it may count as your overall, but like I said email the department and see what they say. I believe his name is (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), he's the person who you would want to speak to.
Hi guys,
I am hoping to get into the Spring 2021 cohort. I just transferred and I am taking the rest of my prereqs. I am doing well so far but I can't help but be a little nervous. I just thought that reading the comments and talking to others who are going through the same process might give me some helpful insight.
