City Tech Spring 2021

Published

Hey all aspiring future RN's ! I'm transferring to City tech in fall 2020. Then I plan on applying to City Tech Spring 2021 RN program. I just need to take one more class MAT 1190. Does anyone else plan on applying? Current students in the RN program do you have any advice?

Med calc is really easy but if it isn’t for you then I’d say to do a lot of dimensional analysis problems as well as knowing your conversions. For 1030, I’d study 40 hours weekly in order to retain the information at the end of the semester when you take your cumulative exam. Just read and also read the powerpoints and take notes tbh. I’m currently a second semester student but I just ordered my uniform LOL. I didn’t have clinicals last semester but this semester I most likely will, twice weekly.

Good luck with everything!! And thank you so much for the help!! I appreciate it :))

Has anyone taken Microbiology yet?  I heard that tests are not multiple choice. Is that true?

@User712 I just took Microbiology for the fall semester and all of our exams for both lab and lecture were multiple choice. I guess it depends on your professor, but I strongly believe that due to remote learning most professors will be using multiple choice.

Thank you so much. How was the subject overall. Was it difficult? Was there a lot of assignments to do? Were grades based solely on exams? Is lab manual required?

Overall it was a lot of material and a bit difficult  but it’s so interesting that it made studying a little easier. Unfortunately since everything is online you aren’t able to enjoy the lab portion which would’ve been the best part since you get to grow bacteria along with some other cool stuff. We barely had assignments, we were given 2 lab reports to substitute the practical portion of the exams, 4 exams for lab and 4 for lecture. Grades were solely based on exams and honestly I only bought the lab manual which came in handy when I was doing my lab reports. I didn’t bother buying the book for lecture, studied off the slides ,notes, and Youtube was my best friend LOL but it all depends on your professor, how you study and retain info.

Seems to be we won’t get acceptance letters til after the 12th.  Because the 12th is the last day to choose the credit/no credit grade.  They want to make sure that we don’t use that. Just my opinion.  So the earliest is Wednesday, but most likely we will get the emails Thursday/Friday.

also, any word of Summer 2021 will be online?

The credit/no credit deadline was extended to January 16th though ? If that's what they're waiting for then that means we're enrolling a week before the semester starting. That's so annoying. My anxiety is crazy right now LOL.
