Hi, I was wondering how my chances are getting into the nursing program for the spring 2017 semester. I have a 3.5 pre req gpa and A in a&p and a 90 on the teas. I know they mostly
look at gpa which is why I'm so nervous... I heard 3.5 is the cutoff. I got a B in eng comp but I got a 95 on the English portion on the teas so I was hoping that would better my chances. I'm really nervous!!! If anyone is in the program please give me your insight!!!
They don't care about how high the Teas score is; the only factor is whether or not you passed their minimum required score.
Your GPA is barely competitive. My group in spring of 2013 stopped accepting at 3.76. but remember, it's only the GPA for their four pre requisite classes. They don't do cumulative GPA for admission.
Also, keep in mind, out of the original 72 that began in spring 2013, only 13 other students that started alongside myself graduated on time (2 years duration). A lot of other people had to do one class at a time to raise their passing chances.
Ambiguphobia, ASN, RN is right..... They dont care abt the TEAS score. They only look to see if youve passed. I just graduated from the nursing dept and has it been a long ride! Instead of assuming with one other, I' suggest you to listen to ppl that are in the program or have graduated. We know how the dept works, ya'll dont yet. So hang in there and wait. If you've any questions, ask us. We're more than willing to help in any way, shape or form. Don't assume X,Y,Z person who's starting off w/ you will know a lot. they are in the same boat as you are. Y'all are just now starting off.... Ask us, we're of more use to you than ppl who are only now just starting the program.
On that note, good luck! dont drop out no matter how hard it gets, and believe me you have NOT seen anything until youre in the program.
Keep pushing and remember the reason you want to be an RN.

I think they only check the teas test to see if you passed then they focus solely on gpa.The last time I asked they said the pass score for the test was 64.3. Hopefully it doesn't go up this year because I think it's based on the median national score.
