    City Tech Nursing fall 19

Seems like it's different for you and when I was in school in 2014, so hopefully someone who got accepted in the recent 2 semesters ought to be of better assistance. Evidently they keep changing their vendors. Even the new Nursing Chairwoman has been changed from Fall 2019 onward. Sorry about that. I could probably assist with other stuff

You want to scare yourself looking at 3rd and 4th semester syllabus already? I graduated a while back, I'm not sure if the material is the same. You ought to focus on one semester at a time, developing anxiety and stress is very easy in this program.

Congrats. Welcome to few of the most brutal years you'll ever face. The school will change your degree to Nursing and only then you'd be able to register for classes. It's pretty fast. You have to also confirm acceptance of your seat. All info regarding scrubs ought to be outlined in the mail/email that was sent to you. Good luck and dont give up no matter how many times you cry.

The Nursing dept. does not care about the TEAS score. They only look to see if youve passed. You need to pass your TEAS and have a minimum of 3.5 in your pre-req courses. The only time they look at the TEAS score is if you and another candidate have the same low pre-req GPA and they need to fill one spot, they will give the seat to the one with higher TEAS. And they accept students with 4.0 GPA going down. Some semesters they accept students with 3.3 gpa and some they dont have to go below 3.5 or 3.6. So it all depends on the applicant pool. You never know. It's very easy to get in as many have said I'm sure, but it's very very hard to stay in, as you will soon see. It would be advisable to pull up your gpa, as once you're in the program, your gpa will start to drop tremendously. Also the dept will look at your A&P grades as well as they are very important for our nursing career. Having 'A's in your science courses are always advisable. Just do your best and leave the rest to what has to happen will happen.

    City Tech Nursing Spring 2019

Did you get a chance to look at the application details in the NUR program? they have it online as well. You have to take your TEAs exam by April 26, 2019 with the overall passing score for the Exam= 65.3%. Deadline for application submission is May 3rd. You need 2.5 gpa minimum for your application to touch the desk of the dept. You need to pass your TEAS and have a minimum of 3.5 in your pre-req courses. And they accept students with 4.0 gpa going down. Some semesters they accept students with 3.3 gpa and some they dont have to go below 3.5 or 3.6. So it all depends on the applicant pool. I remember with my semester years ago, the dept did not have to go below 3.5gpa. But the semester after mine there were students with 3.4 gpa. It would be advisable to pull up your gpa, as once you're in the program, you will see your gpa start to drop tremendously. It's very hard to stay in the program but definitely doable. Also the dept will look at your A&P grades as well as they are very important for our nursing career. Having 'A's in your science courses are always advisable. Try to go back to older threads from previous years, you'll see students who post their own experiences and advice. Nonetheless, good luck in your journey. Hope you get in.

You should still apply, you never know what the cut off is each semester. Sometimes it's 3.5, sometimes its 3.3. You never know. but since your GPA is below 3.5, you may want to go super hard on TEAS and your current classes you're taking. Once you're in the program, you will see that not only is it difficult to stay in, but your GPA drops tremendously over the course of the program. Again, try your best, every semester is different. You can always try again, so no worries there. Good luck

CUNY City Tech Nursing Program- Spring 2018

I am sure you've read all the posts, and all the current students say that admission criteria is different every semester, so consistently searching for reassurance from students will not help you as I repeat again that the admission criteria is different every sem. A student can get in with a 3.4 in one semester and get rejected with a 3.4 or even a 3.5 the next sem. Every semester is different, try to understand that and just trust yourself that you did your best on the TEAS and your gpa. No one can say if your gpa is good or not except the admission committee.

CUNY City Tech Nursing Program- Spring 2018

That's great you completed your bsn pre-req. In city tech the process is you complete your associates first and only then you'll be accepted into the bsn. There's no direct bsn program at city Tech. You can't do bsn directly without getting your associates first. Every sem the acceptance process varies. So no one can say what anyone's chances are. Just do your best, apply and hope for the best. Never forget that getting into the program is the easiest part of the entire nursing program, staying in is the hardest. Good luck

    City tech nursing 2017?

NO powerpoints. First sem is the ONLY easiest class in the entire NUR program. You have to read the text a few times and do practice question. You'll learn eventually how the program works and what you need to do. Everyone studies different and at different pace. Just remember NOT to compare yourself to other students and read at your own level. Don't expect spoon feeding; dont expect profs to tell you what to read and not read. You'll have to refer to your syllabus and read the assigned chapters before class to have an idea on what will be taught. It's a piece of cake to get into the program. But it's freaking hard to stay in. If you need any help or advise, proactively talk to students in the upper semesters as we had gone thru what you are goin thru and we have our own invaluable resources that's NOT given by the profs. --Good luck
