  1. Seems like it's different for you and when I was in school in 2014, so hopefully someone who got accepted in the recent 2 semesters ought to be of better assistance. Evidently they keep changing their vendors. Even the new Nursing Chairwoman has been changed from Fall 2019 onward. Sorry about that. I could probably assist with other stuff
  2. You want to scare yourself looking at 3rd and 4th semester syllabus already? I graduated a while back, I'm not sure if the material is the same. You ought to focus on one semester at a time, developing anxiety and stress is very easy in this program.
  3. Congrats. Welcome to few of the most brutal years you'll ever face. The school will change your degree to Nursing and only then you'd be able to register for classes. It's pretty fast. You have to also confirm acceptance of your seat. All info regarding scrubs ought to be outlined in the mail/email that was sent to you. Good luck and dont give up no matter how many times you cry.
  4. Thank you for responding quit. best of luck with everything.
  5. @OP, did you apply for the PA license already or after acquiring employment? Asking for myself. Planning to move to PA as well. Thanks
  6. The Nursing dept. does not care about the TEAS score. They only look to see if youve passed. You need to pass your TEAS and have a minimum of 3.5 in your pre-req courses. The only time they look at the TEAS score is if you and another candidate have the same low pre-req GPA and they need to fill one spot, they will give the seat to the one with higher TEAS. And they accept students with 4.0 GPA going down. Some semesters they accept students with 3.3 gpa and some they dont have to go below 3.5 or 3.6. So it all depends on the applicant pool. You never know. It's very easy to get in as many have said I'm sure, but it's very very hard to stay in, as you will soon see. It would be advisable to pull up your gpa, as once you're in the program, your gpa will start to drop tremendously. Also the dept will look at your A&P grades as well as they are very important for our nursing career. Having 'A's in your science courses are always advisable. Just do your best and leave the rest to what has to happen will happen.
  7. Did you get a chance to look at the application details in the NUR program? they have it online as well. You have to take your TEAs exam by April 26, 2019 with the overall passing score for the Exam= 65.3%. Deadline for application submission is May 3rd. You need 2.5 gpa minimum for your application to touch the desk of the dept. You need to pass your TEAS and have a minimum of 3.5 in your pre-req courses. And they accept students with 4.0 gpa going down. Some semesters they accept students with 3.3 gpa and some they dont have to go below 3.5 or 3.6. So it all depends on the applicant pool. I remember with my semester years ago, the dept did not have to go below 3.5gpa. But the semester after mine there were students with 3.4 gpa. It would be advisable to pull up your gpa, as once you're in the program, you will see your gpa start to drop tremendously. It's very hard to stay in the program but definitely doable. Also the dept will look at your A&P grades as well as they are very important for our nursing career. Having 'A's in your science courses are always advisable. Try to go back to older threads from previous years, you'll see students who post their own experiences and advice. Nonetheless, good luck in your journey. Hope you get in.
  8. Sounds promising. Just remember to stay positive no matter what. Whatever is worth it in your life requires some level of hard work.
  9. You should still apply, you never know what the cut off is each semester. Sometimes it's 3.5, sometimes its 3.3. You never know. but since your GPA is below 3.5, you may want to go super hard on TEAS and your current classes you're taking. Once you're in the program, you will see that not only is it difficult to stay in, but your GPA drops tremendously over the course of the program. Again, try your best, every semester is different. You can always try again, so no worries there. Good luck
  10. I am sure you've read all the posts, and all the current students say that admission criteria is different every semester, so consistently searching for reassurance from students will not help you as I repeat again that the admission criteria is different every sem. A student can get in with a 3.4 in one semester and get rejected with a 3.4 or even a 3.5 the next sem. Every semester is different, try to understand that and just trust yourself that you did your best on the TEAS and your gpa. No one can say if your gpa is good or not except the admission committee.
  11. That's great you completed your bsn pre-req. In city tech the process is you complete your associates first and only then you'll be accepted into the bsn. There's no direct bsn program at city Tech. You can't do bsn directly without getting your associates first. Every sem the acceptance process varies. So no one can say what anyone's chances are. Just do your best, apply and hope for the best. Never forget that getting into the program is the easiest part of the entire nursing program, staying in is the hardest. Good luck
  12. No problem. Yes I graduated from city tech's NUR associates and now im in the 2nd sem RN to BSN program at city tech. I graduate in the spring sem when you probably start the program lol.
  13. NO powerpoints. First sem is the ONLY easiest class in the entire NUR program. You have to read the text a few times and do practice question. You'll learn eventually how the program works and what you need to do. Everyone studies different and at different pace. Just remember NOT to compare yourself to other students and read at your own level. Don't expect spoon feeding; dont expect profs to tell you what to read and not read. You'll have to refer to your syllabus and read the assigned chapters before class to have an idea on what will be taught. It's a piece of cake to get into the program. But it's freaking hard to stay in. If you need any help or advise, proactively talk to students in the upper semesters as we had gone thru what you are goin thru and we have our own invaluable resources that's NOT given by the profs. --Good luck
  14. No one knows what anyone's chances are. As every semester its always different and random. Just apply and wait and watch for now
  15. You should still apply no matter what. Every semester their criteria is different on accepting students. So just apply and be positive. The hardest part is staying in the program, getting in is super easy. Good Luck -graduated from city tech last year
  16. Yes you need the physical every year. Not the drug testing tho. That's just the 1 time and if your job asks for it. But from school and clinical stand point, just the one time for drug testing
  17. I think I was one of the very few that enjoyed psych very much.
  18. Congratulations!! You're almost done. email me
  19. You will have to wait and watch. You're going based off of us students that are/were in the program. Remember that rules can change at their discretion. Just be patient and try your best not to worry. It won't change anything.
  20. there's still a good chance. you never know. good luck
  21. You could be right. But make sure to check with the website
  22. What did the NUR dept say? They change the passing score when they feel like it, so you have to check with them
  23. No. It's mandatory to pass TEAS. Other than that it depends on how low your GPA is. Even if your GPA is 4.0 and you failed TEAS, you still WON'T be considered into the program. You have to pass the TEAS.
  24. Good,you never know.
  25. It's easy to get into the program in both fall& spring. It's hard to stay in. It depends on the seat availability. They admit students with GPA of 4.0 and work their way down. If you're lucky and if there are seats available then you'll get in with a low GPA. Each semester is vastly different. There are semesters where students with 3.3 GPA were admitted. And there were semesters where students with less than 3.6 were not considered, because a large amount of students that applied had GPA 3.6 and above. My semester in fall 2014, the lowest GPA was 3.6. But the sem before mine, the lowest was 3.4. They only look at your TEAS to see if you've passed. That shows your application can be looked at. The next time they look at your TEAS is if you and another person have the same GPA and one seat is available, then the person with the higher TEAS score will be selected. I had super low TEAS score but my GPA was a 4.0. I knew I'd get in. You should apply no matter what and keep that positivism. You never know what might happen. Good luck -Graduated from citytech nursing
