Anyone else applying?

Oh really. What make you say that?  I understand they are unorganized.  With everything being last minute.

the disorganization is probably the major factor, but others might have their own stuff weighed in like specific professors, the tests forcing us to rush through because not allowed to go back to questions, unable to adjust to the online environment of class etc

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. First semester was amazing. A little tough but I pulled through. Second semester is when everything started to go downhill. This program is always trying to teach us good communication skills, trying to tell us the best nurse are nurses who are kind, compassionate, and helpful. However, they’re doing the opposite of what they’re teaching us. They’re always talking about how we should be respectful but they’re treating us with no respect at all. Professors don’t care for us at this school. Bunch of our emails addressing our concerns get ignored. Professors becomes inaccessible after class time. I could go in for days about this program

Somehow I figured I would hear that; I’m sorry for how it’s been for you guys. I’m in fourth semester myself and yeah; it’s been a mess the entire time. I tried to give a heads up about it a year ago because I was struggling along with my classmates. We haven’t started clinicals either and worse, nobody knows why. No one responds to emails about it and I haven’t seen clinicals start this late before, so I’m worried.

Was it always THIS messy and disorganized? I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt considering that this is a pandemic but I just don’t see that they should always be using that an excuse. This is our degree they’re messing with

It was this way when I started. First semester always fools you into thinking everything is going to be great but...no. So many little things have added up into a bad experience. I am graduating in May with very little hands on skills, while other nursing schools have been attending clinicals all this time we were out. I am bitter that I had to go and pay another school to learn skillsets I didn’t learn at this one, such as starting an IV and inserting a Foley cath. I emailed one of the higher up professors to beg them to open the labs and take us there in small groups to practice out skills but they weren’t interested. Absolutely sad program.

Based off what I've seen, experienced, and the experience of others, this program has ALWAYS been a mess and will continue be so until they start cleaning house and hold there faculty accountable. I always say to others, if you have the opportunity and the grades to get into another program, DO SO. I will say though, they have a FEW incredible faculty there that genuinely care abd want to see you succeed, but a vast majority just see this as a job and a check at the end of the week and it shows in the way they teach and conduct themselves by doing the very bare minimum.

It really is sad. We have an chairperson who runs away at every inconvenience that happens. Clinicals? What are those?  Even half of the students in this program can be a better chairperson than her. I don’t want to be the one to tell her how to do her job. She doesn’t even bother to answer our emails. We are the ones holding the program together and it’s a shame. I do believe that I will do better when I go to in person clinicals because I am a visual learner and learn better hands on. Right now I feel like I’m memorizing information without retaining it and I really don’t understand what I’m memorizing. This school simply do not care. I’m so tired of this school.

Facts. I feel like the only reason most of us keep going in this program is because our classmates push us to not give up. I regret not listening to my friend's warnings about this program, but now it's all about preservering and hoping I can make it to graduation in time (if I even manage to pass the classes at this rate), so I can transfer to another nursing program for the BSN

You're applying?

For those of you in second semester:

Are you going to clinicals this semester?  I've heard second semester students are doing one clinical in person and one online.  At the hospital or city tech labs?
