Published

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone who got accepted into the CHOP new grad RN talent pool in March/April heard anything from them yet as far as jobs.

I just got offered a position for their float pool! I was wondering how you have been enjoying it so far and any advice?! TIA!!

Hi! So excited we are going to be co-workers soon at CHOP! I worked in oncology August to first week of January, currently in the cardiac care unit and I start in the EDECU (emergency department extended care unit) in March and I love it! It’s really cool to acquire skills everywhere and I feel like CSO (MED surg float pool) has def helped me to be a more well rounded nurse. My advice would be if you know you are definitely interested in certain floors email your supervisor for CSO and they usually honor your interests as long as they need staffing on those floors. I hope that helps!

I'm going to be on Onco. A bit nervous with all of this. How was your time there? I've been trying to review my skills and learn Onco since we don't do much in school about it. Super excited though to have this opportunity!

I loved being on onco, you really get to develop fantastic relationships with patients and their families! My nursing school didn’t discuss oncology a whole lot either but I learned so much on the floor and they’re really willing to explain everything to you!

Hi everyone! I'm a nursing student, about to graduate in October. CHOP has been my dream place to work since I spent months there with my sister. I wanted to reach out to gain some information on how to apply to a new grad position. If I go on the careers page, am I applying to any nursing position and being automatically enrolled in the residency program? Or am I looking for a job to be posted called "nurse residency."

Any help is appreciated!! thank you!!
