CHOP New Grad RN Talent Pool 2019

Published

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone who got accepted into the CHOP new grad RN talent pool in March/April heard anything from them yet as far as jobs.

Specializes in OR.

Hi I totally feel you on that. Even with me loving the area I am going to be in and I loved my shadow experience within the OR. I'm starting to second guess it because I start my program on Monday and of all things stuff I completed when I first got my offer which was about a month in advance. Today going into the weekend before my start date oct 7th I'm getting emails that they are missing stuff from my chart like my PPD questionnaire, my mask fitting paperwork, and my compact license disclosure form which I explained because I am military this particular license better suit me. Then they screwed up my name on all documents and said none of my stuff matched up despite I sent them my drivers license, social security card, and nursing license which all contained my correct name. Between health trust and career builders who they use to do the background checks through they are all asking me for extra verification for stupid stuff I feel like they should be able to verify since they claim to be these pro investigators that can find whatever. I have gotten everything taken care of except one job needs to be verified for a pediatric clinic I worked for they are getting necessary paperwork I need to verify that I worked for the company. I really think they are very hard pressed about stuff that is so small. You would think I had lied about school or having a nurses license and didn't lol. Any who this whole paperwork and screening after screening only to have them screw my stuff up and now I'm having to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to get them all they need for Monday because if I am made to look like a nut when I show up on Monday I won't be a very happy camper. And I really don'y like the idea of being in a 2 year contract for a HCA hospital most don't have very good reviews if you look some up. Doctor's Hospital in Augusta GA happens to have some really good reviews but I'm still a little worried but no so much because I am Military and we are expected to have orders to PCS back to Florida to MacDill Air force base Tampa. Hope all goes well for you and definitely pay attention to what you are feeling after your shadow.

Just wanted to see if anyone interviewed this past month or so and has heard back/still waiting to hear from HR? I interviewed last Thursday and was told I’ll hear from HR next but no set timeline. I feel it went well but we’ll see! Will be anxiously checking my email until then. ?

So went on my CHOP Shadowing/Interview a few days ago. Really loved the RNs and the staff in general seemed amazing. A bit worried about the switching between days and nights q2wks. Is this a standard thing for CHOP's residencies or only the unit I was on?

I accepted an offer from 5WA and will be starting in the January cohort. ? If anyone else will be starting then, let me know! Looking forward to this new chapter ??

I had to sadly turn down the offer CHOP made me. I couldn't move to Philly for the hours the part-time hours they were offering me after orientation. Hope someone else on here got my spot.

Hey guys! Do any of you remember any interview questions they asked in your in person interview? I was invited to interview for their NICU and want to know what to expect ?

There seems to be various responses. I had an email two days later for the original position that I turned down. Other folks have said weeks.

So I'm scheduled to start in February. Can anyone comment on how the residency program actually is? Reading some reviews on Glassdoor and they sound pretty worrisome.
