Hi everyone,
I graduate nursing school in May. I currently work as an Extern at a small hospital. I do like it, but I am at a crossroads where I'm not quite sure what I want to do.
I used to work at a different hospital and I am thinking about going back there because I liked the people I worked with so so much.
I told my current employer that I intend to stay there after graduation. Right now though, I just don't know. I'm not in a contract, but I also don't want to go against my word and not work there like I've said I would.
I would really like some advice, it at all possible. Thanks!!

It's business- if your current employer doesn't have a position for you and/or finds somebody more qualified they won't feel bad about it and will drop you.
Apply to many places, go on interviews, shadow, and pick the unit/position that is most advantageous for yourself (salary, benefits, commute, etc.).

thanks for your insight!

And if you end up accepting a position somewhere else, make sure you give proper, in writing, at least 2 weeks before, notice.

Oh, of course! I just don't want to get the reputation of being a "job hopper" from switching my externship between hospitals. Thanks for your input!
