Has anyone heard back from CHOC about their application to the residency? I submitted mine in the middle of March and getting anxious!
I'm glad I found this post! It looks like the applications are still open, I stumbled across them last week (thank God) and applied as soon as I could. I've been checking the CHOC Rn Residency website once month for almost a year and can't believe I still managed to miss them adding a new cohort for June. I called HR and they said applications are still open so I'm hoping to get a call soon! For those of you that did get hired already (congrats!!), do you already have your RN license? I have my interim permit and took the NCLEX yesterday (5/12) and am hoping that not having my RN license in hand (yet) will not affect my chances of getting an interview. Thanks :)
Sounds like I am in the same boat as you! I had written on my calendar to check the site for the August residency the 1st of May. I had no idea they opened the June one back in April! I am so thankful I quickly applied and I actually JUST received a call to interview on the heme/onc unit tomorrow. It is such short notice and crazy because the residency starts in a few weeks. I'm stoked for the opportunity though, we will see how it goes! I also was informed there are 3 residencies for some units this time around so for those who haven't received a call there is totally still hope! :) And CONGRATS to everyone who saw the June residency application early and already interviewed and got offers! haha

Hi! I also interviewed for hem/onc and I was wondering if they told you when they should be making their decision? They told me the third week of May which is now but I still haven't heard anything. The wait is killing me!

Hey! They told me tonight or tomorrow I'd get a call. One of the managers was on vacation so they said they were waiting for her to get back :)
Hey all! So I've applied two different times- and have yet to even get an interview :/ for those of you who applied and have gotten calls- some advice would be greatly appreciated! I thought I had a pretty impressive resume and personal statement- but maybe not! I even geared it toward my nut of preference- hem/Onc. What kinds of things have you said in the essays. Also- are you guys PALS/ACLS certified? I just did those this week. Did you guys do your senior preceptorship on a peds floor? Help a sister out- cause I'm not giving up for the next round!! Thank you in advance!
Did you get the job? Do you mind me asking, did you have PALS or NRP? Did you do your preceptorship in the NICU? I have over 10 years of LVN experience and recently got my RN and BSN and did my preceptorship in the NICU. I didn't get an interview. I am just wondering what it takes to get into CHOC? Are there just tons that apply? Do they hire from schools that they work with? Any information would be helpful!
Thanks!
Hi Guys!I applied for NICU as soon as the application process opened up and received an email on good Friday in regards to setting up an interview. I interviewed at the beginning of April and got a call last week with an offer! I'm ecstatic!!!!!! I waited for about 3 weeks for this miracle. Do not lose hope or faith! Good luck everyone! :)
Hi!! I am applying for the winter 2017 cohort and was wondering if you could give me some advice on a few things!! message me here or email me if you see this please, [email protected] is my email! :)

Hi! I'm applying for June 2017 cohort but have some questions as well. I didn't find many info on CHOC website so it would be awesome of you to answer some of my questions. Did you get in? I'm doing some residency personal statement editing at the moment for my other applications and don't whether I need a personal statement for this residency at all.
Thanks for your time!
