CHOC February 2012

Published

Hey all,

Just thought I'd start a thread for those of us hoping to get into CHOC in Feb. Apps were post on the 15th. What did everyone apply for? Are you local or out of the area? Any connections with CHOC? Let's hope we all get hired =)

I'm coming from out of state after graduation in Dec. I'm originally from Sacramento and really want to live in So Cal for a few years and love choc. I love the area it is in (hello, 5 min from Disneyland!) I am already PALS certified and have a previous degree in healthcare administration, so I'm hoping that will help with getting a call. I put oncology as my first and med/sug as my second. I didn't get the chance to speak with HR regarding # of positions, but hopefully those areas are in need! Good luck to everyone applying!!

has ANYONE gotten called to interview for Med/Surg?

has ANYONE gotten called to interview for Med/Surg?

I have not heard of anyone getting an interview with med/surg (which is where I applied)...I pretty much gave up hope of getting a call since I applied 2 months ago but it would be great if they are still making calls:uhoh3:!

Yeah, I applied there too and haven't heard back. I agree...it's been 2 months, so it would be nice to at least know if we were rejected. But i guess that means there's still some hope.

I applied to Med/Surg also and still no call or email or status change =\ I applied right when the applications opened too. I applied to the PICU during the last cohort, and received a call for an interview within 2-3 weeks after submitting my application. I'm hoping the way they call for interviews is based upon the unit! Since the residency doesn't start until February, I'm not counting myself until December at least...

missxrara.. did u get it??

Sadly no~ but still holding out for LLU...sigh

Does anyone know if for sure CHOC has already filled all their positions?

I've gotten more mixed information for this hospital than anyother one. I've been told that they have finished hired for their residency program, but then I check my account and see I'm still active. However, on their website they say that they have filled the positions, as well and that all applications have been considered. Then today, I just got an email from a CHOC job agent I set up telling me that 2 positions for the new grad program opened up on 4W, but when I went to apply it says that I've already applied under the same job code. I'm guessing that means my file is still "really" active. Has anyone heard anything?

It is frustrating that they don't update our status. Mine is still "under review" but I heard from people on Facebook that they did finish hiring for all the units.

Hi, I just tried to call, but left a message, hope they call me back and report back here. Can't really depend on these FB info, need to hear from the direct source, maybe someone can also call to see if you can get a straight answer. Not knowing is always the worse part, I'd rather get a "No' than a "maybe".

OK, so I talked to someone at CHOC yesterday and she said that all positions have been filled and notifications will go out by Dec 15. I asked if we never got called for an interview, but our account still says active, does this mean we can still be considered (longshot, I know). She said that they got over 1500 applications and that HR has been slow to update everyone´s profile. :( Good luck to those that get hired and even more to those that still waiting to find their perfect fit.

Hey for everyone that got an interview, did you guys have any special licenses or certifications on your resume?
