CHLA Versant RN New Grad March 2014 Cohort Application

Published

Hello,

Did anyone hear back for the March 2014 application?

livelaughlove, How was the CHLA interview? I am flying down soon for mine and I was just curious how it went and how they have it set up (panel, duration etc...) I think we are interviewing with at least 2 or 3 of the same hospitals. Good luck to you and maybe we will get to work together someday.[/QUOT

It was about an hour and it went better than the first one ( at least I think so). More time to ease into it and get to know one another!

HR said the two same people forsure but can't promise there will be some charge nurses or other staff. But it was just two today! I had 10 extra resumes printed out just in case haha.

and yeah I've seen you on another threads too! We are on a roll! Hopefully we get our first choice.

I wouldn't mind having coffee with you or with anyone else who gets into this residency. I am looking for a roommate for la!

Specializes in Neonatal, NICU level IV.

livelaughlove,

Thanks for the feedback!:cheeky:

I have to say it is pretty exciting to be interviewing for these hospitals. I have wanted to work in the NICU before I even started nursing school and it feels unreal to have my dream so close.

I am very excited that your interview went well! I know they can be pretty stressful but when you nail them it feels good. I am sure you will get one of them.

Is CHLA your first choice? You may have said it before but I forget.

I would love to have coffee if we get in. It would be nice to get to know someone before you start the program together.

Specializes in Pediatric Hem/Onc.

So, I had my hem/onc/BMT interview on Friday. They told me they had their last interview Monday afternoon and would have their decisions to HR by Tuesday, but told me we might not hear til the week after Thanksgiving. I, too, was told it might be a panel of lead RNs, etc, and I had 8 packets ready- it turned out to be just the two managers, which was totally ok too. Fingers crossed, everything crossed.

Sounds like PICU and Rehab have made their offers- anyone else hear from other units yet? What about ED second round interviews?

Yes it is! :)

Here's to a new week everyone!

Anyone heard back for a second interview from the ER yet?

Hey, melvadere-- congrats to you too! Tried to send you a PM to introduce myself, but apparently I haven't used the site enough to qualify for PMs! Anyways, congrats. Excited to be coworkers! Did you do your preceptorship or anything on 4W? I did, back in May-June. Just love the floor, the nurse culture and the hospital itself!!!!

Hey there RN_CA2013....its funny that you can't send me a message, cause I can't either! Apparently I was able to respond to messages sent to me, but not initiate them. Oh well. I am so excited to be coworkers with you too! I did precept at CHLA in BMT, but did go for 4W as my first choice because of a lot of volunteer work that I have done with a pediatric oncology camp. I loved the nurses that I was able to work with, and the culture at CHLA is the type of work environment that I want to be a part of. Feel free to email me at [email protected] . Looking forward to this upcoming year!

I got the offer for 4E earlier this week! So excited to meet everyone! enjoy the next couple of months :)

Congrats to everyone who has received offers! So exciting.:cheeky:
