  1. I received the formal invite last Thursday and I got a call from -------------- in HR last Tuesday for the physical, med math and paper work. AHHHH so excited!
  2. Nothing yet. Or even the formal invite for the welcome lunch?
  3. The comprehensive ATI is killer. Depending on which test topic you're taking, I'd do a practice test and start studying based off of that. Use it as a starting point and cover the topics you have most trouble with then hit everything else.
  4. I agree with what everyone is saying. This is your chance to be in the unit you want for an entire semester. With the job market in California, you really don't know what job you're going to land. I did my preceptorship in Peds hem/Onc earlier this year and I landed a job at CHLA for the hem/Onc unit. But no matter where you start, med-Surg, tele, ICU... It'll all provide amazing learning experiences.
  5. Good luck! Trust your gut and don't over think!
  6. Thanks RN_CA2013!!! I've never precepted at CHLA, but I did do my 6th semester preceptorship at Millers children's hospital in LB on their Hem/Onc unit. And congrats to you too!!
  7. I got the offer for 4E earlier this week! So excited to meet everyone! enjoy the next couple of months :)
  8. Hi antidentit! Congrats on your second round interview!! I was told that the 2nd interview is going to be about 1 hour. Did yours last that long? I'm an interview newbie so that sounds like eternity. lol. Also, did they ask any clinical based questions? I'm so nervous about questions like that for any interview.
  9. For the hem/onc people, do you know how many people they interviewed for hem/onc and how many they're planning to hire?
  10. congrats!! its such an exciting accomplishment! In my own experience, I felt that the NCLEX asks you a wide WIDE range of topics and it keeps throwing the topics you get wrong back at you. Keep going over practice questions, review topics that you keep missing and you'll do great SoontobeRNEshun!
  11. congrats! it will be an exciting journey!
  12. Don't over think it! It sounds like you're doing a good job of diligently studying! I studied for about a total of 6 weeks. The first 3 weeks were halfassed studying about 2 hours every other day. the last 3 weeks were studying 5-6 days out of the week 4-5 hours a day. In the beginning it was reviewing topics, but if i could do it over again, i would have spent a month just going over questions. good luck!
  13. To those who started yesterday for the CIS job, how'd it go?? Also will it still be 3 12 hour shifts?? I got an email from HR saying that something changed. I hope its still 3 12's!!
