CHLA Versant RN New Grad March 2014 Cohort Application

Published

Hello,

Did anyone hear back for the March 2014 application?

For those curious about Hem/Onc, there are 8 positions total for the entire floor. 2 for BMT, 2 for 4West, and 4 for 4East. They are interviewing 18 people and the last interview was scheduled on the 25th. They are hoping to extend offers before Thanksgiving. Good luck everyone. I had my second round yesterday and was told I was the first of the 18.

Good luck and thanks for that info. My interview with hem/onc/bmt is this coming Friday.

Hi antidentit! Congrats on your second round interview!! I was told that the 2nd interview is going to be about 1 hour. Did yours last that long? I'm an interview newbie so that sounds like eternity. lol. Also, did they ask any clinical based questions? I'm so nervous about questions like that for any interview.

My interview was an hour, maybe a little be over. It goes by fairly quickly but then I've done several interviews for my past career, so an hour wasn't that long to me. In terms of questions, it was a mix bag, some threw me in for a loop. Just be yourself and you'll do fine I am sure.

Congrats on making it through the last round!

Did you feel like it was question and answer and question and answer or was it more conversational?

@ Livelaughlove07,

I noticed you applied for Loma Linda too is this your first choice? I applied to hem/onc too but am still debating if I was lucky enough to get both if I would move to loma linda. I currently live in glendale/burbank area.

Thanks. I felt mine was more conversational but I think you make the interview. so you can make it answer and question or you can make it conversational.

If I happen to be one of the people hired, I am going to have to move to LA and I have no idea where good places to live are. I would ideally like to live close enough to walk to work however, I don't know if there are any neighborhoods close to the hospital that are "safe/clean". Also I was wondering if anyone else will have to relocate if they get hired and what your plan is. Maybe finding a roommate is the best option since it is so expensive there. :coffee: Thoughts?

got a call for an offer for rehab!!!

excited to meet everyone who's hired in feb for the luncheon (long time from now :x3:)

good luck to everyone who has made it to the final rounds for their units!

Yes CHLA is my first choice plus Loma Linda hasn't even started to call for interviews!

And if accepted to CHLA I do plan to move very close. So I am down for coffee to see if any new grads would be potential roomies!

Congrats :)

Did they already tell you the dates for the luncheon and any other meetings before the start date? It would be nice to plan a getaway before the residency starts :) and to celebrate haha
