Nurses Job Hunt
Published Apr 16, 2020
Hi! Just wanted to start a new thread for the upcoming CHLA RN Transition Program that starts August 2020 & if anyone has updates. What units are you all applying to? I will be applying to the OR program

Same! From what I remember she said because of COVID, I’d hear back end of May/beginning of June since there’s no rush. But I’m sure every unit’s timeline is different

I just hopefully hear back soon- I will be applying to my own hospital's peds CVICU unit for the fellowship there if this doesn't pan out and the application period opens soon.

@djd241 I applied to BMT!
Heard some units for the new grad program are postponing their start date to January 2021... at least it’s still happening & just hoping the transition fellowship is still happening too!

This makes sense- less patients means they can't properly learn to take on assignments (new grad wise). We'll see- maybe I should check in with the recruiter too.

Hello all! I turned in my application the second week of April and just finished the phone interview this past week...seems like the August start date will be pushed a couple of months later, ah!

Margaret, did they tell you during your phone interview that they’re thinking of moving the start date for the program?
Don’t know if others heard anything yet, but I got an email saying they cancelled the program this year

The experienced nurse transition program? They suggested to me to move to an RNII experienced position rather than the transition program when I did the phone screen.
Yeah they said they’re cancelling the experienced RN transition program for 2020.
