Hi Ott, I got a call yesterday for CVICU. Good luck hope u get a call soon!

Hey Ott, I also got a call yesterday for CVICU. I will be doing a Skype prescreen interview since I am on the East Coast. If Skype prescreeners make it past the first round and are lucky enough to score a second interview, it will have to be in person.

I got a call today for the ED. My interview is on May 13th. Good luck to everyone!

Whoa, May 13th? Mine is May 2nd ... do you think they are going to interview ALL departments before getting back to anyone regarding the second interview?

Sommerelkins did they say how many people they were calling for interviews for the ED? Also what was the number that called you? Did they ask any questions or just schedule an appt?

Hey everyone! Congrats to all who already know they're moving on to the next stage and to those of you who are still waiting to hear...keep the faith! :)

I received a call this morning for CV Acute and will be pre-screening on May 2nd also. I was told 20 were selected to prescreen (on either 5/2 or 5/3) and that there are only "a couple spots" for the actual unit. I'm not sure if that means 2 for sure since another recruiter had told me something different over a month ago. Still, we'll never know until offers actually go out! The good thing is all those who pre-screen will be contacted for sure with either the + or - news about going on to the full interview stage--I can't remember if she said within 1-2 weeks after the CV Acute pre-screenings are over on 5/3.

p.s. Anyone else getting a haircut? lol I haven't had one in about 5 years so I figured now is the time!! :)

Hi curlywhirly, is cv acute the same as CVICU?

Hi curlywhirly, is cv acute the same as CVICU?

Hi ner214, the short answer is nope. CV Acute is the step-down unit...

I got a call for pre-screening for CV Acute as well! I'm up in the SF Bay Area and flights aren't cheap but the recruiter I spoke to made it seem like I would be at a disadvantage to do it over skype. I'm thrilled by this opportunity for my dream job but it seems a little crazy to spend $300+ on a flight for a 10 min interview. Any thoughts?

curlywhirly maybe I'll see you there! I'm on May 2nd as well. good luck to everyone pre-screening!!!

She told me they are making calls until next Friday.

Sorry blueorchid981, I couldn't PM back to you but yes it was the same recruiter who called me.

Question: did most of you do capstones in peds? My program changed their curriculum a bit and so I'm actually in peds now so my letters of rec where not peds related. I'm just trying to figure out how best to increase my chances for next spring!
