Hi everyone! I created this thread for all of us who are applying to the RN Residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for the September 2018 cohort. We can keep each other posted on application status and interviews. What unit did everyone apply to? I applied to the NICCU.

Just got a call for an interview for the ED! Does anyone have any helpful tips for the speed interview?

Just spoke to a recruiter for the heart institute and they said they are making the first calls next week :)

I had my speed interview today. All I can say is really be yourself! They will ask random questions that will make it easy to put your foot in your mouth if you're not thinking about it. Some related to nursing, most not. There's no way to plan ahead of time except just know your strengths, be yourself, and all they want to do is get to know YOU as a person.

Like LifeisBeachy said, my speed interview was exactly like that... A lot of random questions I didn't expect. Definitely did not ask common behavioral questions that I had looked up prior to the interview. I say just be yourself, and don't get nervous or you might find yourself stuck on giving answers. Don't be hard on yourself after the interview because you really can't prepare for the questions they may ask!

I had my speed interview on Monday. It was hard to gauge how I did because it felt like it was over before I knew it. They said we should hear back in 2 weeks.

Did anyone hear back about second round interviews for NICCU yet?!

Had the speed interview with the Hem/Onc (4E) interviewers earlier today. I was told that they are making final decisions today and that HR should notify candidates about whether or not they have been chosen to move onto the next round within two weeks. Hope this helps and good luck to everyone again!

Does anybody have any updates about the Heart Institute? It is almost the end of the month and I have not heard anything.
