CHLA RN Residency Sept 2018

Hi everyone! I created this thread for all of us who are applying to the RN Residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for the September 2018 cohort. We can keep each other posted on application status and interviews. What unit did everyone apply to? I applied to the NICCU.

Still haven't heard back. I was told at least 2 weeks and HR would get ahold of us either by phone or email. I know people from other units have had rejection emails after the speed screen. We'll hear back sometime hopefully this week either way.

I have yet to hear back too. I keep checking my application on line to see if it changes to a rejection. I also keep checking here and my e-mail. So anxious to know. Good luck!

Any updates? Perhaps on how second interviews went in general? I received an e-mail From CHLA to come to an experienced nurse hire event, but still nothing from the heart institute.

Hello! I'm quite late to the conversation. Does anyone know if the September residency is filled? I don't graduate until June, so I'm worried I may have to wait until the March start-date.

I talked to the recruiter on Wednesday. She said if you haven't received your rejection letter after the speed interview, you are practically still in the game. They haven't made their final decision yet.

I am not entirely sure what the cut off date is but I know they started taking applications on March 5th. you can look on the website to see if they are still allowing applications and for additional instructions. Each department is different regarding timeframes. "The September 2018 cohort will remain open until each department receives sufficient qualified applications so don't delay on submitting."

I took that directly from their website regarding Septembers Cohort.

I wonder how many people they're going to take! I heard rumor its around 25 hospital wide but no idea when it comes to units
