Hey! I wanted to started the newest thread for the September 2014 CHLA RN Residency applicants! I just sent in my application. Where is everyone from and what unit are you looking to land a job on?

Nothing here... I think somewhere, someone posted that they start going over the packets after 2 weeks? As in, the soonest you could receive calls would be this week. Hang in there folks! (no clue where that came from, it just sounds familiar)

Yes its been 2 weeks! I thought first round interviews would start this week! I just to want to know my status, trying to practice patience! Lol

The packet said that they will do interviews throughout May. If you don't hear anything by May 31 then they didn't pick you for first round of interviews. I know last cohort calls for interviews came even past that set date. Keep thinking positive thoughts! :)

At least you all know your packets safely arrived at the hospital! haha! Still no word on what happened with mine, so I'm just hoping its there!! Hopefully next week the calls will start! :D I hope we all get a call and get to meet each other! Does anyone know how many interviews occur before an offer is extended?

Hopefully your packet made it!! I believe it's 2 interviews. The first is supposed to be with the recruiters and Human Resources and the second is with the managers of the unit you applied for. My Preceptor is a graduate from the program and this is what she told me, but it could have changed since last year!

I applied for NICU as top choice! Glad I found this forum, I was feeling alone in this waiting game!

I heard back today, got my call around 4:30 for Round 1 interviews! Finally my initial wait is over, I'm interviewing with HEM/ONC/BMT my first choice was BMT. I was told my interview will be 10 minutes long with 2 nurse managers one from 4E and another from 4W/BMT! Once pre-screening interviews are done I will receive a second call if I am selected for round two interviews! Good luck everyone hope you all hear back soon! From what I know all units haven't been called because a few of my classmates with other choices haven't heard back yet!

Congrats!!! When is the interview scheduled for? This week or next, or further? Curious how far in advance they schedule...

That is so exciting! Hang in there folks, I know its tough! :p I have a question, I have never done a panel interview... If there's 2-5 people there, do you approach and shake all of their hands? Do you just hand each of them a packet and ask their names? I haven't been called yet, btw, I just was thinking about all this and realized I have no clue. Shaking 5 hands in a row seems like running a gauntlet, lol.
