CHLA RN Residency March 2020

Published

Hello friends! This thread is for everyone applying to CHLA's RN Residency Program starting in March 2020. Hopefully we can keep each other posted on the application process, interviews and whatever else. I'm trying to apply to their NICCU! What about you?

Just wanted to reach out and see if anyone had heard back from the heart institute still? Haha

Literally still waiting, haha. I haven’t heard a single thing from Heart, but it seems like nobody has. So that has to be a good sign that we’re still in the running? ☺️

When I called at the start of November they stated that they had until later in November to reach out so we are getting closer to that. Should someone try to call and ask about progress and updates?

I’m getting anxious because CHLA is one of my top picks, but all the other new grad programs I applied to are already interviewing and making offers. ??

Update! I just heard back for an interview on 12/5 - it looks like that’s the date they’re doing interviews and there were a few times to choose from. So excited!

Anyone else?

I got invited for an interview too!

@Living2Learn By any chance do you know if it's going to be a panel interview?

@NewGradRN_510_Peds I’m not 100% sure, but I have a feeling it’s going to be at least with the manager and a charge nurse from my conversation when they called. They said it’s only 30 minutes as well.

I wonder if it’s more behavioral questions or knowledge based? We sort of exhausted the “tell me about a time when...” questions during the video interview, haha.

Had my interview with Heart Institute today! Anyone else awaiting interview feedback? They mentioned Heart Institute was the last to interview and that all offers should be made before the holiday.

I just had my interview today too for the heart institute. ? fingers crossed ! Do you know if there’s going to be a second interview ??

Hello! I'm sorry to budge into this thread but I have a quick question and thought this would be the best place to get it answered! I'm graduating August 2020 and interested in applying for the program in Winter 2021. I looked on the website but either I'm blind or this isn't listed on there. Is there a specific date one would need their license by during the application process? Or is it just by start date? Thank you all and good luck!

I just got an official offer from the Heart Institute. Best of luck to everyone ?

@ssddee03 I just got my official offer today too for The Heart Institute! Yahoo - congrats! Where are you from? I’m moving back to Cali from Vegas

@Tinyhumannurse No second rounds first round was the video, haha

@taylorr13 You just need to have your license before your start date. CHLA admits into their new graduate program 2x/year - March and September. They might list is as Spring, so it’ll likely be the start of March 2021 that you need you license. You don’t need it to apply.

@ssddee03 @Living2Learn Congrats!! That's amazing!! Did anybody ask how many positions were available?
