CHLA RN Residency March 2018

Published

Hi guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for applicants to the Children's Hospital LA Nurse Residency for March 2018 :)

If you'd like you can comment below on where you've applied and your application status. I've applied to the 5 West Step Down Unit.

Good luck to everyone!

@criticalcaring Ya that's good to know, I just had a different training experience since I am coming from NYC and have never had a job in healthcare before!

@ll2546 I'm sure they offer interviews for many different reasons, not just preceptorship. I think volunteering in the nicu will help if you don't have much clinical experience in NICU. Good luck!

Hey guys!

For those interviewing with the heart institute....when is your interview?

I think it went well. It's so hard to know for sure how you've done :/

Has anyone who applied 5W heard anything on when we'll hear back?

@RN2583 I didn't apply to 5W, but I was told we would hear back 1.5-2 weeks after the last day of interviews. Not sure if it's the same for every unit. Hope that somewhat helps!

I asked when we should expect to hear back and they said they would let recruitment dept. know end of last week or this week. But they also added that they're not sure how soon after recruitment will let us know. :dead: So basically we have to be patient :(

did you happen to ask how many they would hire?

Every unit is different. I think it may also depend on the talent acquisition person helping out the unit. Had my interview for niccu on Friday and was offered a position yesterday (: Good luck to everyone.

Hey everyone! Just got an offer for 5 west today :) super excited. Hoping to get an email with all the details shortly.

Has anyone else had a second interview for PICU? I had mine today and it was only 15 minutes! They didn't really ask any clinical situation questions - felt really weird! They said I should hear back by Friday.
