CHLA RN Residency March 2018

Published

Hi guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for applicants to the Children's Hospital LA Nurse Residency for March 2018 :)

If you'd like you can comment below on where you've applied and your application status. I've applied to the 5 West Step Down Unit.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I have applied to the PICU. Hoping that we will hear about interviews soon :)

Hello!! I applied to the Heart Institute!

Thanks for getting this thread started! I also applied to the Heart Institute :)

Hey! I applied to the NICCU. I was wondering if anyone has applied to more than one unit? Or if anyone knows if they use the one application to consider other units? It confuses me because there is a letter of intent for your top choice, so what do you do about the letter if you apply to your second choice...........

I called them to ask how we specify what is our first choice and what is our second choice...they told me that you can only apply to one unit. She said sometimes if you are not selected for the one unit you applied for they might offer you an interview in a completely different unit they think you might be a good fit in.

Hey all,

I also applied to the NICU. So nervous. Does anyone know when we might be hearing back in regards to our applications?

Hi all, I applied to the Heart Insitute!

On another note, anyone plan on attending the Q&A session tomorrow?

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of completing my application, but I am struggling with the letter of intent a lot.

In which style did you write your letter of intent?

Did you try to show all your passion, told a story why you want to work in a specific unit?

I am basically working on this for several days now and I still don't like what I have on the screen so far :(

Thank you,

Lucy

Hi all!

I'm applying to the PICU! Is anyone applying from out of state/have any information how the process differs for those apps?

In response to Miss_Lucy

I tried to explain what interested me about the specific specialty, what I look to gain from the program, and what I bring to the hospital. List those points and expound. With that said, I don't know if it worked. We have yet to hear back. :)

Don't get overwhelmed by the worry. Someone once told me that you will find the place that is right for you if you are honest and put yourself out there. Write down something and submit it. Good luck!

Hi guys! I applied to the ED. :)
