China - Nursing/Teaching

Without speaking Chinese you would be at a total loss. You would have to take your boards in Chinese, the same way that any nurse coming to the US has to take them in English.

You will find very little information in English on the computer, it is all in Chinese.

A Taiwanese colleague was telling me the other day that the minimum requirement to teach nursing in Taiwan is a PHD.

I'm from Taiwan. It's true that the minimum requirement to teach in a University here is Master and probably mostly PHD in a few years. However, if you're willing to apply for lecturer or preceptor, a bachelor degree in nursing will do. And of course, you'll definitely need to know the Chinese language in order to teach here, because I doubt schools would hire interpreters. But since the trend here is finding job in the States, I don't think it would be hard for you to find a job as a lecturer in one of the NCLEX review class.

Look at what used to be "Handsprings" website, which may now be under the PalmOne site under software. They have many language programs that you can download from there. Some are completely free and others are shareware, prices could possibly be about HK$70 or so, if not less. They are a very good source and I have used them for many things, great games also available and in Chinese.

Just for curious, so, they also have an nationalwise board for nursing exams just like NCLEX? Do you know any more information related to their licensure application procedure? Thanks.

Are you looking for a conference in a specific city or concerning a specific subject? Right now the way that you have it worded is the same as looking to attend a confernce in the US. Please be more specific and I can then help you..........................
