Hey guys! I am starting this for the March 2024 Cohort at CHLA. As people hear back about interviews, hopefully we can update each other.

Honestly, I've been at it since September and the constant rejection has been rough on my mental health so I'm going to take a little bit of a break and try again in January. I know I want to be in Pediatrics, but I might have to venture out to adults to get the experience, then transfer over. There are some programs I'm looking at:

PIH Good Samaritan and USC Versant have new graduate programs. I also believe Providence is opening up next month? Not too sure. Unfortunately, both UCLA and CHLA have their next upcoming cohorts later next year, and I cannot wait that long. If worse comes to worse, I'll just work at Southern California Hospital or Centinela until I get experience.

I never knew that it would be so incredibly demoralizing to get constant rejections. It makes it really hard to stay optimistic. I honestly feel like I was lied to in nursing school. The "shortage" of nurses isn't applicable to new graduates.

Dude I just don't know what to do. I guess I should have seen it coming - Peds is such a specialized population, but still...

It is so hard, I had seen one of your other posts and you also applied to Northridge hospital, I applied to NICU and PP there and they ghosted me ? its rough out here, Providence is accepting application starting Dec 18th. I am going to start a NICU nurse externship at one of the Providences and I am hoping that will give me an edge.

I hope so too LOL this is my second time ?I've been checking out miller women and children's but they haven't been posting many openings.

I really wish we knew how they choose who makes it to the next set of interviews

based on the answers we gave them to the 3 questions in the 15 min interview they "score" us. then those results go to HR and then IDK how it goes from there. the first time I applied the girl was nice enough to explain that to me

Joining late but for those waiting on PICU, I received an e-mail to schedule the second interview on Wednesday!

Hey guys!

If I still haven't heard back for the 2nd interview....should I give up or hope that they'll send out more invites this coming week? ?

Also anyone heard back for the 2nd interview from the med surg units/ Duque?

I'd still hold on. When I applied last round I didn't hear back for a second interview until like the last day LOL. They seem to send out second interviews based on each unit and some do it faster than others.

Duque hasn't been sent out yet. They're still sending some units early next week.

has anyone heard from ED yet?

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't heard back about a second interview and I applied for ED and Duque.

glad to know we both waiting ?

I know some said they haven't heard back from ED, but has anybody heard back from NICCU? I'm still waiting on a 2nd interview from them & have lost a lot of faith.

I was told we would hear back from November 27 through December 27 for a second interview so there's some hope guys! But I'm in the same boat with all this waiting
