Hey guys! I am starting this for the March 2024 Cohort at CHLA. As people hear back about interviews, hopefully we can update each other. 

Specializes in Nurse/ADN student.

Hi Everyone, I interviewed for CHLA last week and will be doing my 2nd interview tomorrow with the ER manager. Please keep me in your prayers. I will update you with the questions/ scenarios I get.

dang has anyone heard from 5E or float pool? I havent gotten anything. so strange! I made it so far last time

Last time what unit did you interview with and what questions did they ask?

I applied 4 East and Float Pool and haven't heard back.

last time I interviewed with 5 west, and OMG I nearly blacked out in the interview cause it was in person and there was 7 interviewers! I was shook. anyways, they asked the normal questions like tell me about yourself, strength and weaknesses, where you see yourself in 5 years, why 5 west, and then a few scenario based questions but the one I remember was what would you do if you gave the wrong med to a patient and the family was in the room. also to explain a time I dealt with a moral dilemma. thats really all I remember. I walked out and knew I bombed it so that was that lmao

That's how I feel right now. I applied to the PICU and NICCU last time. Didn't even hear back from the NICCU, but heard back from the PICU.

this time around, I'm not hearing anything from CTICU or NICCU. I know CTICU sent out some invites for interviews before thanksgiving and apparently NICCU is sending out invites right now. 
like you'd think since we're re-applying, we'd at least get better odds, but I guess not

hopefully theyre just sorting things out still cause this is so weird! I def expect to hear back from atleast one of them. 

also IDK if anyone applied to california hospital med. center (not peds) but I applied yesterday for the new grad program in the ED and got a response super quick and have an interview tomorrow via zoom. I also applied to PIH good samaritan yesterday and got an email today to basically "preference" my units and they have NICU and L&D! so def apply there too

Hi all! 

I can speak on NICCU real quick! I got an email about second-round interviews this morning, but I unfortunately had to turn it down due to another offer. I know I was the only one they were waiting for to sign up for a time slot, so with that being said, all the interviews are set for NICCU (except for the time slot I had to decline). I wish nothing but the best for everyone, and you all are/will be amazing nurses! ??

aw damn. I didn't apply there but that def is a bummer. congrats on getting an offer elsewhere though! do you mind sharing where?

Yeah, I am actually an out-of-state applicant! So, I got an offer here in WA state (on an NICCU Unit), where I am from! I will say that the CHLA timeline and waiting game is definitely much longer than other residencies I've applied to in CA and WA. Some other programs I looked into were UCLA, Miller Children's and Women, Rady's, and USC! Good luck to everyone on their interviews! <333

Thank you so much for responding....best of luck to you! I really hope you get it! This is also my second time applying but I didn't make it to 2nd interview last time ? man this is making me lose so much hope in finding a job in a area I want
