Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) RN Residency July 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello! I haven't seen a thread for the upcoming July 2022 cohort and wanted to create one. I just applied and I'm crossing my fingers for this one. Feel free to share any insights or any updates on the application process.

Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know what the pay is like? Do you pick your own schedule?

Hi,

I would assume that scheduling is most likely up to the unit, and will follow a preceptor for a solid 12 weeks.  I’m almost positive that means you will not be scheduling your own schedule.  As far as days/ nights, I doubt that will be so much up to the new-grad however they may accommodate if need-be.  Pay is probably around 40/ hr before differentials included.  I’m not sure when they will be notifying for selection.  Good Luck to everyone.

I interviewed for them on Friday. Lmk if you end up working with them, I didn’t think the interview was too bad & I really enjoyed who I spoke with.

I’ve been waiting since Friday.

Anxiously waiting too. Are there units still interviewing this week?

They told me we would hear Tuesday Latest Wednesday. But might depend on the unit. Anxiously waiting!

I oddly got asked to interview for another unit today. Even though I interviewed for my unit of choice last week already. I didn't apply to this unit so I'm confused ? did this happen to anyone else?

Maybe they thought you’d be a good fit for that unit.

Hi, for those who applied and got interviews did you guys have previous peds CNA/PCA, volunteer, capstone, etc experience?

I had 3 years of EMT experience (ran a lot of peds & NICU calls)

I did my MSN capstone fieldwork at an elementary school; my project was a school-based mental health program for children

I also have my ACLS & PALS certs

Hope this helps!?
