Just wanted to start a thread as there appears to be some from the past. Has anyone else applied for the August 2014 cohort? I would love to hear and keep in contact with other current applicants as well as those from the past.
Below is the program timeline for August 2014:
o March 28 - April 7: Positions posted
o May 12 - May 16: Select/notify applicants to interview
o June 9 - June 20: Interviews
o August 18: Start of program
For purposes of discussion:
o Are you from Colorado or planning on moving?
o Previous experience working in pediatrics?
o What units are you most interested in?
Hope to hear from others soon!
Hi all,
I also received a message yesterday that my application has been routed. But I didn't want to get too excited because I'm sure this is not the major elimination step. And it sounds like a lot of you got the same message.
I'm originally from Wisconsin and moved to Ohio to go to nursing school. So I would be relocating from Ohio for this program.
Are you all traditional students? Anyone else an accelerated/second career student?
Hello All!
I am from the Chicago area, but am attending school in Milwaukee, so I would be relocating if offered a position. I applied on the last day the application was open and got the email yesterday that my application was sent to the hiring manager and my current application says "route". Excited that I have even made it this far! I requested oncology, intensive care, and cardiac step-down. It sounds like an amazing, but very competitive program! Does anyone know how many people the take on average?
Good luck to everyone applying!
I work in numbers a lot.... so, I'm curious how many they tend to forward. I would think they would rank their initial people. Pile of : forwards; pile of: maybes.... etc. So they can fill the slots but also weed out people. I'm just curious how many they would forward initially. Not sure if it would make me more excited or not, but at least would give me a more realistic picture so I don't get my hopes up!
I haven't been able to find anything on pay rate, but here's information on their benefits.

At least from my area, these are comparable, if not better.

I am doing my preceptor hours on night shift tonight, and stayed up late last night so I could hopefully have an easier transition. I got up and checked my phone, and as I was dinking around I got the email that mines been routed too!!
Now I'm definitely getting my hopes up.
Based off of last history that I've noticed, just because your application was routed early on, Doesn't mean you get an interview. And, Just because it wasn't routed earlier on doesn't mean you wont. So those of you that haven't heard, there still is hope!
It seems like it took forever, yet, was a blink of an eye since applying, so I'm sure the next three weeks will go the same way.
I'm sure it's a hard decision, and I'm glad I don't work in HR! I'm just glad they even gave me the opportunity at this point.
A friend of mine from another school got an interview with onc last year but didn't get a position. Her preceptor was even in that area. They just had so many qualified applicants. So, just my experience with it.
Anyone know anyone or anything about the process from here? Any insight would be great because I'll probably be bouncing off the walls the next few weeks..
