Child interviewed alone by doc. Not even his appointment

I'm trying to figure out if my mom could get these ppl in trouble. She went to her pain management appointment with her friends 13 yr old son. Juat to get him out and to help her a little. She took a drug test and it popped for coke, it was a fluke. They sent it off to be tested, came back clean. Any way after her drug test they separated them, in different rooms, they gave my mom a sobriety test. But worse that interviewed the little boy without consent if my mom beats him. Or is mean or bad to him and much more. It was horrible for my poor mother. Now there constantly messing with her medications.

Hmm... I know in matters of child protection, CPS and law enforcement don't actually need parental permission to interview kids. At least in my state they don't. We can't give legal advice on this site, but medical staff are mandated reporters; a positive tox screen + driving a child around would warrant some action. Whether the interview was the appropriate action vs contacting the authorities, I'm not sure. If the boy's mom/guardian is concerned about his ordeal, she would be the one to pursue it.

Why are they interviewing a child that is not her own? Does he live with her?

Read Here.I.Stand's reply above. She drug him along to her pain appointment where she screened positive for cocaine. They are mandated reporters. It doesn't matter whose kid she is driving around if she screens (+) for coke. Now someone wants to make an issue because they asked a few questions trying to figure out if they should report. I wouldn't even have done that much, I just would've just reported to CPS and been done with it. They won't get anywhere with this and are just looking to make someone else as miserable as they are.

She was driving him around while, apparently, per the initial tox screen results, under the influence. That's placing a child at risk.
