hello everyone! i am very excited to announce that i was accepted into wright college's practical nursing program here in chicago! i start class on january 20th! i am also quite nervous as what to expect, yet i'm just overjoyed! i know it's going to be very time consuming and difficult, but i am ready for the work :yeah:.

are there any other wright college lpn 2011-2012 students out there:confused: helloooo???? :lol2: or are there any other chicago lpn students out there? -i'm sure there are, i'm just being silly :jester:, but the reason i ask -maybe we can make a lpn study group for our area! we're all here on this awesome :rckn: site for each other's support, so let's do this! :anpom:

Hello all. I received my acceptance email today. And I am accepted into Wright's Nursing Program for Day Program Summer 2011. I am so Happy. I hope all is well with everyone else.

BEST WISHES TO YOU LOVELY1206, you're going to need it. I was accepted into a RN program and leaving Wright for it. They are very disorganized by far, BY FAR. I'm not trying to discourage you, but prepare you. Just one example, the TEAS test is not the only ATI exam you're going to take, there are several that you must pass with 2 tries each, or you're kicked out. But here's the kicker, you are supposed to have 10 books and 6 dvds from the ATI company to prepare for these exams, and you won't see any of them for a loooong time. Our final for Fund 2 was today and that's when we got our books! When we should have gotten them super early to prepare. Some people failed and only have one more try -when their first try was cut short by not receiving the books to study for the test. THEN, because the books came late, this ATI Fund exam wasn't going to count as a "do or die" grade. Yet, today we were told that now that the books are here, the 2nd try will count and if you fail, you're out of the program. This is not even the HALF of it, you'll also be pulling teeth just to go over exams and dispute a grade -even when the instructor knows darn well she's wrong & proof is in the book. I wish you the very best though, I really do. I hope the program changes for the better soon. Congratulations.

thank-you. I will try to make the best of it. I am really trying to get my foot in the door at wright to potentially finish my RN somewhere else. Also, I did decide that I would speak with the Dean of Nursing or DIrector to see if I am able to buy my books on my own and not through the school which is porbably why it takes so long to receive the books. I can tell that they are disorganized due to me having to take my transcripts up to Wright College more than once because they lost them. I will just try to remain positive study the best I can, get study material, go to the library and do my very best. Thanks for the advice and examples. I am sure it will be pulling teeth with the teachers and staff with getting adequate and ample enough time to complete activities as well do wwll on my exams. But I am so determined that I won't let anyone or anything stop me. So I will keep a positive attitude take all advice and do my very best. COngrats on getting into a RN program that's great! Thanks.

Hello again Lovely1206, if you buy them on your own you'll be paying twice for them, because they charge you for all ATI material with your tuition. If you buy them on your own, they're not going to refund you that money. Like you, I was just so excited to have my foot in the nursing door, but this school just kills that feeling for you. Every school has their bs, but this school takes the cake by far. I hope you're enthusiasm surpasses their disorganization.

Hi Lovely1206, First of all I would like tell you I much I love the positive energy that you carry within you personality...having a positive outlook on ANY situation is the KEY to SUCCESS!!!:DI just received my acceptance email from Wright's LPN day class as well...Congratulations to US!!:yeah:

No. Wilbur Wright wasn't my first choice and yes, if I had a choice I chosen my #1 school, which is Truman's program. But, I feel like God would have not placed me somewhere that I'm not strong enough to handle. Becoming a nurse is my Dream and I would do whatever is possible for me to make that dream come true, even if that mean having to work harder than other students at a more organized program.

Yes, I have heard many students talk about how disorganize their program are...Believe me I heard it all, from the delayed ATI's book to the Rude instructors. However, it's still possible to make it through with Determination, Faith, and a Positive Mindset. I also know many nurses that gradated from their program which mean it's very attainable. Far as the ATI books goes, u can get the first one or two you need from Amazon

Used for a very low price to get a head start. My co-worker is in the program right now so I would be able to let you know what ATI book you would need for the first semester. If you want to start an early study group you can send me a private email.

Take Care and Stay Positive no Matter What!!!

@JessiBoopcna, Congrats to u as well with your acceptance into Daley college!!! Good Luck!!

Thank you Trice. And Lovely, I wouldn't give up applying to other schools as a back up. This school is losing their director and supposedly doesn't even know who the next one will be -now, what does this say about the program in the future, if there is one. I lived it firsthand, you will be living it, so just take a little caution from this crystal ball. I'm an A student and yes, you have to work very hard in any program, but that's not going to count if the instructors aren't giving you the grades you deserve. I wish everyone the very best who wad accepted here. I know you want to be optimistic, like I was, but I also have to be realistic too. Hopefully the next director you get is a fair director and cleans house, because the hardworking students deserve it, like yourself :)

Hey JessiBoop,

I'm a student at Wright College as well, but I'm in the day class for Fundamentals II with Peer. We just finished taking our ATI exam last Thursday, so now we have a break until June 6th. I just wanted to ask if you took your ATI Fundamentals PN and if you passed it because I sure as hell didn't pass and I was wondering if you have any tips for me. I have to re-take it on June 3rd, so I have time to prepare for it. Let me know. Thanks.
