Chemistry on the TEAS exam

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone, I am planning on taking the TEAS exam next week and was wondering if anyone that has taken the exam tell me how much chemistry is on this exam. Science has always been a weakness of mine so I am a little concerned about this part of the exam. Any feed back will be great! Thanks

Just review basics: proton, electron, neutron, atomic mass/number, ionic and covalent bonds (polar/nonpolar) , balancing equations, gas laws (Boyle, Charles, Dalton, etc). There are a bunch of chem questions on the tests, but they just cover basics.

I got lucky and only had 5 chemistry questions when I took the TEAS last month.

All of the chemistry questions I had on my exam were straight from the ATI book with the exception of the state changes (sublimination, condensation, evaporation, etc...).

-Acid/base

-Balancing equations

-Know by looking at a name if it is single, double or triple bond

-oxidation/reduction

-photosynthesis reaction

-Atomic mass

-protons, neutrons, electrons

-valence electrons

-covalent bonds

-ionic bonds

Good Luck!

There were few chemistry questions on my test. Luckily they are grouped with the other science questions so if you are good with general bio then you should do fine on that portion of the test. I guessed on all my chemistry questions and still got a 78 for the science portion.

Good Luck!

Honestly, I took the TEAS twice. I found out that the test was the EXACT same. I took it once, researched all the questions that I was unsure on, and took it again. I wound up with all my scores in the 90's.

You got lucky! They have a few different exams. I've heard of some getting the same exam again, but I wasn't one of the lucky ones.

Babygirly, 14 questions that pertain to earth and physical science were on either of teas exams. Ph, chemical properties, kinetic potential etc.

Thank you for the topics for the chemistry section. It was extremely helpful when I sat down and began studying. I take the Teas Test tomorrow! Hoping that I can score as close or above 80 as possible! Wish me luck. ;)

How did you do on the exam?

How did you remember the one's you missed? Does it tell you the questions you got incorrect?
