Who else is taking Chemisrty this semester? I thought maybe we can check in with each other, and help each other out.
If there is enough of us maybe we can even get a sticky.
I am taking Health Science Chemistry 1.
Well after much trying I still just don't understand chemistry. I dropped the class on Friday. I guess that means that I will be only getting an ASN instead of a BSN. O-Well, I guess thats just how it will have to be. It sucks because I really wanted to get a BSN. Can't do that with out chem though:scrying:
Many of us have been there, Princess74. Don't feel bad, maybe later you can do the RN-BSN route. That's my goal, anyway.
Just remember that by passing the NCLEX, ASN = RN just the same as a BSN = RN!! :)

I hope everyone is doing well.
I actually made an 101.2 on my first exam. I made an 86.2, but got the 15 point bonus question correct, so my total is 101.2! I'm not sure how I managed that one! I know I had seen a question like it on the worksheets I downloaded, so I guess I remembered how to do it. I didn't expect to get it correct!! I really needed that grade though!
My next test is this coming Monday over Stoichiometry and aqueous solutions.
I have to come up with a group presentation idea, although it is supposed to be a "group" decision, no one has e-mailed any ideas yet. ugggggh
11 more classes.....I can do this, just have to stay motivated to study!

Congratulations! 101.2 That's 4 significant figures or 1.01 x 10(exp2) LOL-----Keep it up!
Congrats! I'm jealous! I made a 90 on my first exam (ten questions) and my second exam was today (unit conversion). Hopefully I'll get an A on that too! Luckily we don't have group projects in my class HATE THOSE!!!
Thanks & congrats to you! Great job on your exam as well, no room for jealousy! lol
10 questions? OUCH!!!
W/O my bonus question, although it was a hard one, and one we did not go over in class, I would have made a B. (What makes me mad is when you get your test back, and you go over it, and see what you did wrong!) grrrrrr :angryfire
I put C=(F-32) * 1/8 instead of C=(F-32) * 1.8
Could have slapped myself for that 4 point deduction! PLUS!!!! two of the matching had to do with these conversions, but used the 9/5 version instead of the 1.8. I got those right. I should have just used the ones given, instead of the way we learned in class (1.8).
...and I mixed up the definition of elements & atoms....DUHHHHHHH! (Ok, even if I really didn't know the difference between the two, the definition I put for element had the word "element" in it. How dumb could someone be?????
Geeze, If I wouldn't get worked up over exams, and use common sense, I could do really well on many of them w/o extra credit. lol
Oh well, I am estatic about my grade. I guess as hard as the instructor makes the bonus question in order for it to be worth 15 points, and I got it correct, I should not complain about the ones I got wrong.
(A good, should help.) lol
LOL. On the test today I almost put one milligram is equal to 1 gram. It took me a few minutes to realize that didn't work. LOL! I knew it looked wrong. Thank goodness I caught that or I would have gotten 5 points knocked off.
My wrong answer last time was not reading ALL the answers. Had I, I would have known it was D all of above for heterogenous mixtures instead of just the one answer I was so mad at myself. Oh well, what is really cool is we are having 12 "performances" and the 7 best ones count plus we use help sheets! The rest are just thrown out so this one might be my throw aways. I could not seem to grasp unit conversion.

That's okay if you don't know. This is basic chemistry but we have a professor who is jumping around on topics. I was looking at the rest of the worksheet and we haven't even covered these types of problems in class yet. I think I will talk to her before class starts. No nursing classes yet.
Thanks,
Kristen
