Chemeketa 2018

Anyone else getting ready to apply for the 2018 nursing program?

I wouldn't give up hope yet Lizzy.234. It is true that the cut off for people accepted into the program last year was 304 but we have no idea what our cohort is like this year. Even if you don't get accepted into the program you can still be an alternate and I've heard that it's typical for many alternates to get into the program as some other students end up choosing other programs over Chemeketa.

Looks like last year the last day to take Kaplan exam was on April 14 and then everyone got their score sheet by April 19 to be checked and on May 1st they got the acceptance emails. So if they are fast as last year we should be getting ours pretty soon

It definitely seems like they are not as fast as last year as the last day to take the exam was the 6th and it is already 11 days later. I'm losing my mind with impatience.

I confirmed yesterday that they are using alternate points for this application. Does anyone know how many alternates didn't get in last year?

I hope that they actually have our letters/decisions quicker than it is taking them to send out our score sheets. I keep having nightmares about being 20pts short, rather than 2.5pts. I'd like to get some sound sleep. lol.

Same here girl, I check my email every day probably 3 times a day haha

So they are using alternate points this year? Why would they say they aren't?! Earlier in the forum, someone posted that they were told by health sciences that they were not using alternate points this year. Weird! Someone who got in last year posted that they accepted 13 alternates and they had 28 total so that means they could have as many as 15 alternates coming back, but some of those people probably got in to other programs. I just want to know one way or the other!! I am down 4 points so I am worried if there are a lot of alternates that I won't get a spot! My anxiety is in full swing!!

My score sheet just got posted, we are getting closer!

My score sheet is also posted. I ended up getting alternates points after all. It is a pleasant surprise, however I am annoyed that both my advisor and the health sciences dept told me that I wouldn't get alternate points since not having the points is the main reason I decided to retake the test this year. I wish that there would have been clearer information about this.

I got my score sheet too! Hopefully we'll all find out about acceptance soon

Do you know how many of you alternates there was left?

There were 28 to start with and I think we ended up with 15 left

The score sheets are in! Now comes more anxious waiting... The number of people who may have those alternate points is upsetting. Good Job for those of you that do, you definitely deserve them. I only wish I had them too!

Congrats to anyone going in with alternate points! I wish I had them! But that does make me more nervous about my score. I know from reading last year's threads that a couple of the alternates accepted offers from other programs because they didn't want to risk not ending up with a spot at Chemeketa so it's unlikely (I hope!) that all 15 will be coming back, but 5 points is a big advantage. Last year notification was sent out on May 1 so we'll all have to bite our nails until then!
