Chemeketa Community College Nursing Program Fall 2016

I am applying to Chemeketa's nursing program for Fall 2016. I am curious if anyone has any information about the test that they will be doing now instead of the essay? I'm mostly wondering how it will be graded? I wish we weren't the first year to have to do the test.. I'm worried about how it will be.

Good job! Yeah it's hard to know what score will get us in. I applied to OHSU- Monmouth campus and have an interview on 4/18. I applied to Linfield as well and I'm #18 on the waitlist. What's your first choice school? Mine's Chemeketa.

Cool! I am #21 (last I checked) on the waitlist for Linfield. Fingers crossed! My first choice would either be the Ashland campus OHSU ABSN (on the alternate list) or Linfield ABSN programs. Ultimately I would be happy with all of them though! Fingers crossed! I still haven't heard from the traditional OHSU (Klamath Falls campus) program yet.

Is that #21 for the fall or summer start? I'm confused because she told me I'm #18 for fall start, but didn't say anything about summer. Does the application count for both summer and fall?

Yeah, I am #21 for summer. Your application is automatically considered for both, however, the summer start is the accelerated program and is only for people that already have a previous bachelors degree.

I got 81% on my Kaplan but I am retaking. I asked what the average was for Chemeketa students so I had at least an idea if my score was even remotely competitive and she wouldn't say. It's a little frustrating.... I knew last year I couldn't be more than 2 points under but this year I have NO clue!!!

Yeah I think this year there's going to be a larger gap than 2 points

I got 91 on the exam, but I would imagine that anyone in the 80s has a good chance of, at worst, being an alternate. However, I guess that will depend on the scores from April 14th. I was a bit frustrated at the lack of communication by the school on what to really study for. The Kaplan book was of course useless. Perhaps the reading part helped a bit, but not much otherwise.

Hey guys! I took the exam on the 1st and got an 80. Like a lot of others I will be retaking the exam on the 14th. I know someone was saying that last year 358 was the average number to get into the program but even with an 80, all prereqs completed and full points on the rest of the score sheet I'm only at 348 which seems so incredibly low to me.

It is hard to believe that the point system will be the same as previous years and that 358 will be the magic number still. You never know.. But it's a totally different game than the essay.
