I am applying to Chemeketa's nursing program for Fall 2016. I am curious if anyone has any information about the test that they will be doing now instead of the essay? I'm mostly wondering how it will be graded? I wish we weren't the first year to have to do the test.. I'm worried about how it will be.

The exam will be the Kaplan exam. There is a study guide book available on amazon or at the bookstore. I am not sure on how it is graded though.

I have been doing lots of research on the test and it looks like Chemeketa will grade all subjects of the test. Writing, Reading, Math and Science. Some schools only take certain subjects but as far as I know Chemeketa will look at an overall grade. I also heard that if you get 89% or above you will get the full 50 points
Anyone else found good study tools for the test?

I'm applying also! I am nervous about the exam!! I have full points on pre-req's so this exam will make or break me.

I am currently in the nursing program, but I was an alternate so I had picked up the study book just in case. I found it pretty helpful actually. Good luck to everyone!! :)
You took the test already? If so, what was your score if you don't mind me asking?
No, I did the essay last year. But since I was an alternate I got the study book just in case. But I ended up getting in. You guys will be the first class to do the test.
Ok that's what I thought. It sucks because we have no one to ask how it was
I would just say to study that book as best you can. Do you knew when you have to take it yet?
March 31st, April 1st, and April 8th are the scheduled days to take it. We find out February 26th whether or not we made it on to the next step. How many days a week are you at school/clinicals? I'm just kind of curious what the schedule is like for the nursing program.
Well for the first 3 weeks or so it's 5 days in class (theory), after that is when you'll start clinical. Our clinical days are Thursday and Friday right now. But I've heard they may be making changes to first year but I'm not sure what those are yet. On modays we have skills lab, which is only about 2 hours long so that's nice. They told us to basically keep our schedules open Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. They did an open house last year, which I found really helpful in getting an understanding of the program, hopefully they will do that again this year for you guys!
