Chemeketa Community College Applicants 2011

U.S.A. Oregon

Just thought I would start a thread to see who else applied to Chemeketa. We should receive our scores in the next few weeks. The suspense is hard. I also applied to OHSU's BSN program.

Specializes in Acute Rehab, IMCU, ED, med-surg.

Got 365 (includes 5 alternate points). Whew.

Congrats, what an awesome feeling I'm sure. Nice job on getting full points on your essay even when you didn't have to. Do you know of a lot of people who applied with the alternate points?

Tomorrow is the last day to debate your score... is anyone going to bug ---- and ask her when she will start finalizing scores and sending out letters? :specs:

An advisor at CCC who helps score the applications said "they should be out a couple of weeks after the May 13 deadline". I don't see what the hold-up is if they have all the scores tallied. I think it is going to come down to random selection again even though they scored the essays as part of the application this year....

I really hope it doesn't come down to random selection, but I'm also afraid it may. Al34, do you think maybe last year you didn't get full points on your essay? I really hope that was the case because what a bummer it would be to not been selected with full points possible (including essay). I'm just hoping they didn't want to go to random selection this year and give out less 50's. I just want to be accepted so bad which makes it hard to not think about.

I don't think I got full points for my essay last year, but there were people who did that didn't get in. I wish they had a better system.

I'm just hoping to get on the alternate list now...so I can get get the extra 5 next year. *sigh*

Ugggh, sad but true!

Specializes in Acute Rehab, IMCU, ED, med-surg.

There were 26 alternates from the 2010 application cycle.

That applied again this year?

I don't think all alternates would apply from last year but probably a good number would. I heard from former nursing student that's how she got into Chemeketa. It seems like mission impossible to get into from the first try :(

I just called PCC and asked if they were still planning on sending out the acceptance letters next week and they said that now they are not planning on send them out until June 1st!! Frustrating! Has anyone else heard anything?
