I'm hoping we can make this a sticky and have a new Chem group for Fall 2007. I'm starting August 23. I'm taking Chem (of course), A&P 1, and Nutrition. Anyone else up for a Chem group?
Good Luck to us All!!:yeahthat:
I'm taking Intro to Chem. It's been a while since my last chemistry so I have to start at the bottom. I start on the 27th. I'm nervous but extremely excited. I miss taking A&P already so I'm up for the challenge!!
I'm glad we are all in this together!!
BTW.. someone asked what a sticky is... it's a thread that stays at the top so we can all remember to check in on it... HTH's

I am in too. I am taking Intro to Gen, Org and Biochem beginning Aug 27th :uhoh21:along with Intro to Ethics and possibly Intro to Nursing (hopefully if I can get into the class section that I want.)
Count me in as well, but I don't start until late September (my summer session just ended Friday). Last summer I took the chemistry I needed as a pre-req for A&P, but now I need 200 level chemistry as a pre-req for my upper level science electives. So, I'm taking Chemistry 221, Cell-Biology 211, and two cakewalk course because you get admission points for having them: Diversity in Health care and Medical terminology.

Hi everybody!I'm registered to take A&P I and II and Chemistry. The chem course is Thur. with a Tue. lab from Sept to Dec. The A&P courses are accelerated (Mon/Wed ea. with lecture and lab): A&P I--Sept to Oct., A&PII--Oct. to Dec. I work a full-time job and everyone says I'm crazy to do three courses in the space of one semester. I've never taken chemistry and my algebra is ok but not great. Any advice on whether I should go through with my plans or drop the A&P courses and just get the chemistry out of the way? My main concern is not having time to do homework for my Wed. A&P classes due to my Tue. chem lab. My hope was to begin nursing school full-time in spring 2009 (accelerated BSN), but that's not written in stone. These will be my first pre-nursing courses.
Thanks, and good luck everyone!!

Hi Craig,
I volunteer right now on a L&D floor and in talking with the nurses about my schedule they all said Anatomy is hard because it is time consuming and for you to take a year long class and put it into a semester along with Chem and working full time may-be pushing it. I guess you would just have to see how the first class goes and if you remember things easily it could work. But I think it is alot and I have backed down on my load due to their recommendations.
Hope this helps,
L
I just posted this in another thread but I thought I would post here too.
Anyone in the same boat??
I just started my prereq's and I'm taking math 40 and chemistry at the same time.
Is that taking on too much?? Should I get a better math foundation before starting Chem. Any opinions or advise on this would be greatly appreciated. After one class I'm thinking of dropping it because I'm worried about the calculations.
Suggestions Please!!!

what type of math is math 40? if its general algebra you should be fine. the calculations in chem are totally different.and they are pretty easy once you get it down. i took a prep chem class not long ago and that is basically all we did was the math in it

Kim-
Sounds like you have a full schedule. We almost have all the same classes! I am taking Eng. 102, Soc. and lifespan psy. I was able to test out of the math, so that won't be required for me. I will be taking chem, eng and soc as online classes this semester. Psy I will be attending one night a week for 4 hours!! Good luck with everything!
