Human Anatomy / A&P I Club for Fall 2007
I just wanted to share this - I am taking Anatomy online and a girl in our class shared a wonderful way to memorize the systems in the body. i realize this may be a bit late, but hey if it helps even one person... I Saw My New Elegant Chairs Laid Down Right Under (the) Rug Each letter is - you guessed it... the beginning of an organ system! Well, except for the... but you get it :)

2-Year Nursing Students
I am going for my ADN because of the time I have to complete it. We will be living here until August of 2010... which means, if I get in next year, I will complete the the 2 year program a few months before we leave. Otherwise I may have tried for a BSN. I'm not sure how it works in other places, and I didn't completely read through the other posts before this, but here the actual ns is only one semester longer for BSN vs ADN. But, pre-reqs are about twice as long.

Chem Fall 2007
I'll be taking Chem, too. I start Sep 4, and I am also taking Anat and College Algebra. I am nervous about Chem... this support thread is a great idea!

Human Anatomy / A&P I Club for Fall 2007
Count me in as well! I start Anatomy on Sep 4, along with Chem and College Algebra. I also work full time - home daycare - and have two children to take care of (three if you count my husband. Just kidding!) Anyways, I am a bit nervous but trying to keep a positive outlook on things!

College Algebra Fall 2007
Me, too! I start Sep 4. Math is definitely not my best area!

A&p??
Ahhh... alright. The school here offers them seperately. Hence my question about whether I should try to take them at the same time. Thanks!
-
A&p??
So I am assuming when the term A&P is used it is refering to Anatomy and Physiology.. my question is, is this normally one class? If not, is it wise to take them together? Right now it is in my plans to take Anat this fall and Phys next spring. Thanks!

Question about Pell Grants
I, too, thought I would be eligble for at least some of the pell (we are pretty low ranking mil with two kids) and I got NONE this upcoming year! BUT fill out the FAFSA and see what it says. When you do, you have the option of getting information on school loan... it may tell you after you finish the application that you don't qualify for pell, but you do for the loans.

What school are you waiting for???
Good Luck you all! I am applying this winter for University of South Dakota - hopefully the internet program. If things don't happen here for whatever reason, then when we return home in 2010 I'll start trying for UAA as well.

Summer Session Sign In
This is my first semester in school - I am EXCITED! I'll be taking Comp 101 and Algebra this summer. Was going to do 3, but I am also starting daycare, and I would like to sleep for at least an hour or two every night! :wink2:

Usd
We are stationed out at the base in Box Elder, right near Rapid City. We just got here about 3 months ago.. we came from overseas. I am a stay at home mom and about to start home daycare, so the internet program would SO SO SO SO great for me! Don't get me wrong, if I get into the traditional program I will be more than happy to go.. but it would be at quite an expense. Second car, daycare fo my two.. it would add up. I am actually going to be doing most of my schooling online, both courses this summer are online. Are you from the area? Thanks for some positive info on the program!

Usd
I am starting pre-reqs for the USD program this summer - and hoping for acceptance into the program in Fall of '08. Does anyone have any experience with the internet program? If so, how was it? Or just the program in general - were you happy with it? I met with one of the admin with the program, and she has been nothing but wonderful. I have high hopes for the best with this! Also - anyone by chance living out near Ellsworth? We just move here a few months ago.. still getting to know the area!

Nervous - Internet classes
Thanks for the input! I guess I am just stressed about it - I know its going to take self discipline - I am preparing myself for that. I am trying to get accepted into the program next fall, so I am really cramming to get things done by then. I consider myself computer savvy, like I said I am just nervous that losing the personal-ness that would come with classroom settings and a traditional nursing program. I needed to vent about more than anything, I think, as my husband, wonderful as he is, just doesnt seem to undestand my fear about it. He thinks I am smat as a whip and will be fine, but taking an internet class, in my mind right now, seems to be at my own loss. But, I don't have a choice, if I going to do it then this is going to be how I have to get it done. All the realization of what I am going to be doing is coming on so fast - it's a bit scary! But thanks so much for the insight and for saying science online isn't like visiting hell! And thanks for the pointers, as well, because most of the people I know who took an online science class just said it was horrible - and I can't say that I think any of them were very concentrated on it. Just sort of, "When I have time.." thing. But more than anything, thanks for listening - greatly appreciated!

Nervous - Internet classes
I just enrolled in my first two classes this summer, Algebra and Comp 1. Both online. I have to admit, I am a little nervous about them being on the internet. I don't a problem with the computer or the internet, I would call myself a little computer geeky, I am just nervous about the lack of face to face learning. I think most of my classes are going to be interent. I am a stay at home mom, about to stat at home daycare. I considered getting an evening job, but with husbands schedule it wouldn't work out. And a day job would be useless, I have little job experience, so I am sure all the money I could potenitally bring in would only pay for the daycare the kids would have to have, the second car we would have to get and the gas to put in that car. Has anyone taken an actual nursing program over the net? The school here has 75 spots - 50 traditional and 25 internet. I guess I am waiting to see how these classes go this summer to get a feel for the internet thing. Labs and tests are in the evenings and weekends, which would work out great for me. I guess I am just terrified of not doing well with the internet courses, seeing how the majority of my schooling will (most likely) be done this way. Can anyone who has done the science courses over the net give me a feel for what its like? I am not anticipating it will be easy - and I am worried I will be missing out on something that in-class students get. Sorry this turned into more of a vent than anything!! Thanks for listening
