Hi everyone. I just wanted some opinions on this: my A&P1 class had a lecture exam yesterday, and there were these two girls who were cheating!!!!(One was sitting behind the other, and she was crouched down a bit behind the other girl's big hair).
Several students saw them, but the instructor (I don't think) did.
The thing that gets mad is that I bust my rump in that class to keep an A, and these girls can just cheat and still receive an A!!!!!
I know that it will catch up with them eventually, but in the meantime, they're still getting A's (i think).
Should one of us tell the instructor? or just let it catch up with them?
Well even if they can get away with it in school. Cheating won't work on the N-clex. You know the material because you are studying and doing the work. Just know YOU will probaly pass it on your first try and THEY will probably have to take it over and over because they never LEARNED the basics in class on their first test.
Your'e doing the right thing the right way and that's what matters, not what they do. They will get caught next time, in one way or another.....:)Regardless of whether you choose to tattle on them or let it go. Their ethics aren't real good either and they will need those in real life too. You cheat or lie about charting or mistakes, or steal meds and you lose your license. Don't worry about them. The most important thing is you!!!
Cheaters weren't "tattled" on in high school, it was "cool".
This is college. Grow up. Study, don't cheat. It's not cool.
She didn't give names, therefore she did not rat them out. If they happen to cheat on another test, they just have their chances of being caught raised.
People should STUDY, not cheat. College is a place to grow up, stop acting like the world deserves them, and start thinking about the consequences of thier actions if they get caught.
That makes me wonder.....is it momma's money they're wasting? :angryfire

That's a load of crap. I'll be dammed if a cheater beats me out of a seat in the Nursing program! And, maybe she can't save the whole world, but isn't a little corner better than nothing at all? You know, I don't know if you cheat, but your opinion seems that you think its OK. What a shame.

I can understand where your coming from, but they wont get very far just by cheating. Sooner or later they will have to learn for themselves or they will just not make it, to the very end.

If the people who cheat get into nursing school, and you worked your butt off & didn't, then it becomes your business.
It's not right, it's not fair, and the competition here is TOO great to just let people cheat to get into the nursing program you are trying to get into.
They can work their butts off too, and get in by their own merit, not someone elses.

If I am in the same class as you and you cheat on a test right under my eyes, than YOU MADE IT MY BUSINESS to set things straight!!!!! As a matter of fact I would walk right up to you and tell you in your face!

So we should wait until AFTER they beat us out for a spot to get upset?
Hrmmmmm and we wonder why we have to worry about nurses who falsify records, time cards or lie about medications given or not given. Or docs who bill fraudulently. We should be held to a higher standard of ethics and honesty then the general public. You might find cheating acceptable when it comes to your mortgage loan or your bank account perhaps? Would that be ok? Hrmmm...I wonder if anyone has ever DIED because of a little padding on a financial transaction?
Nope - I would have an adult conversation with the instructor - names and all. Cheating is cheating, the reason people get AWAY with it and continue to do it is because we LET them! We ALLOW this to happen!
We still have cheaters in GRAD school for crying out loud. RIDICULOUS

For me this subject ends right here. Ijust gave my opinion in the matter. I always hated when a neighbors or someone I had never seen in my life came medling around my business.
