My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)
Well... It took me 3 hrs to get there to Canton from my house to take my TEAS and I finally received my study guide last night. I did extremely well on the Reading, English, and data interpretation and not so great on the math and physical science which dropped my average to 66. That stinks!!! I'm taking again and making sure I make time to study the math over the next month. I can't believe how high I scored on some, yet I did guess on a lot with the math and science portions because It's been too long and I needed to study. The positive is that I can take once more, I know whAt to expect and make sure it's not all the way in Canton!! I'm so tired from that trip on a FRIDAY at that.
If you do a search for "how to improve TEAS V score" on Google there are a couple of links from
allnurses. One is from December 2012 and the nurse lists her complete study guide for each section of the TEAS. Helped her get a 94, I think! At least you know where and what to focus on! I really like the breakdown! Hopefully you can get a bit of rest tonight?!
Hey everyone, i'm Tas. Also applied for this fall. I just started a thread today for CTC-ASN 2016 hopefuls. I didn't know there was one already. I am thinking of retaking the TEAS too. I got a 75 on my first try 2 years ago. I have all my prereqs done with A's and a B in A&P1 Lab. I believe that has me at 280 points.
Hi Tas! Welcome to the group. I'm glad you found us. :) If you are interested in retaking the TEAS get online asap and register. Someone posted that the dates are filling /full. However, I don't know if that is for the ctc campus dates only. The ATI website offers many other metro locations.
You can register through ATI and will also get your results within an hour or so after. I don't know why I didn't think to share that before, for those of you who said all the dates were full. There are several listed on their site. You just have to pay $27 to have them send your transcripts (electronically) to CTC. I did that the first time, bc I had no idea I could sign up through CTC. I think you end up paying $10-15 more than if you register through CTC. The initial registration fee, through ATI, is lower, but then you are hit with the $27 transcript fee...
