Chattahoochee Technical College ASN Fall 2016

Published

My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)

I am taking the TEAS for the second time on 4/22. Thank you for the prayers!!!! Taking it at the North Metro campus.

How did the TEAS go, Kelly? Hope you are feeling good about it!

I got a 78 on my first go round! Felt pretty nervous too! But I figured for the first time round, I have a good idea of what the test is like! I plan on taking it again on 4/22!! Downloaded some TEAS study apps for on-the-go study access and I have two study books! Thank you so much for asking! And thank you so much for keeping me and test day in your thoughts and prayers!!!

Absolutely! I believe in the power of prayer. Way to go! I know you feel better. Now that we know what to expect, we won't be so nervous on round two. I was pretty nervous the first time I took it too. Have a great weekend!

Lindsey, you mentioned that April will be your first time to take the TEAS. Make sure you take as many practice tests as possible and definitely time yourself! Whatever your weak subjects are (mine is definitely math) do more review in that section. And also, you want to be as comfortable as possible with the format of the ATI practice tests! You might not see the same questions but the format of the questions is the same and the types of questions asked on the test are similar to the practice tests!

Thank you so much! I have both online practice tests and the ones in the back of the study guide and 2 apps on my phone I am using for the next month to study. It wasn't the most ideal thing to take the teas once but hopefully it will turn out for the best! Math is definitely my weak point lol I haven't taken a math class since I went to collage the FIRST time in 2003 my credits transferred so I never had to take another one. That is what I'm trying to reteach myself! Thank you so much for the advise! I will definitely time myself that's a great idea. :) I'm honestly ready to just get the teas out of the way haha

Kelly is so right! Oddly enough the types of "math" problems that got me were not +,-,X and ÷ (or even very basic algebra)...but the unit conversion problems. On my test, there were several different units of volume, length and weight that you were asked to convert (like ounces to liters, feet to kilometers etc). I guess for years I have been using measuring cups and the American standard system of measurement vs the metric system (which I definitely need to get used again to for nursing). ha I thought I knew that stuff. I'm embarrassed that I missed almost all of them, and there were several. So brush up on that stuff if it challenges you. ;)

Oh man! Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely make sure I have that down! I wish we didn't have to wait until June to find anything out.

I'm taking my teas this Friday and thought I chose N Metro, but accidentally I will have to drive all the way to Canton!!! Ugh.

I guess I will start the stats:

I'm sure most of us are done with all the courses. I'm retaking a Sociology class this semester for a higher grade.

My points summary without the Teas and interview is a 163 out of 200. Unfortunately, I have a C in one class and that bothers me that I was not able to retake this Spring. I just need to step it up on my TEAS. Would everyone share their stats. I do hope we all make it in. I was is a BSN program at NAU in Arizona was doing great, but decided to move because I missed my husband and other reasons too. I really miss the studying, classmates and clinicals.... Strange but true. It's important to be a team and supportive while in a program. I'm ready to finish what I started

I have a 173 right now, not including intro to computers or sociology but including my first TEAS score. Working full-time and taking 2 classes doesn't leave time for too much. I'm just praying earnestly!

I currently have 246/410 points. This does not include my humanities prereq or interview (of course...but so hopeful :) ). I am enrolled in humanities now. Good luck on Friday! Let us know how you do.

I have a 200/410 not including my teas or an interview. Good luck on Friday!!!
