Charting!!??

Do you paper chart or do you have "fancy" Computer charting?

We use PowerSchool. It's a nice program. Meds are still documented on paper but most is computerized. I'm old too but it's much easier for me than paper.

We computer chart into an excel spreadsheet. Meds are still on paper.

"Fancy" computer charting. But it's not a great program.

E-school

We used Health E Tools, but switched to SNAP Health Center. I like SNAP way more, clearly, it was designed by nurses.

Our district uses E-School and the program has a medical part to it - all charting is done in ESchool including meds.

What kind of setting do you work in? I think most if not all hospitals these days use computer charting!

Not all school districts have EMR.

I work in a privately owned LTC facility and we are on paper. I am glad honestly. I have way too much going on to deal with a computer that does not want to cooperate and then leave me further behind on important work, like taking care of my people. We can all thank the severe over-population of lawyers for the repetitive, extensive charting we all have to endure robbing the patients of the care they deserve. I think they should put a cap on people who are allowed to enter law school or take the bar per year. Lawyers have ruined healthcare. I know charting by "exception" will lead you, the nurse into a court room. I wish I could get into assisted living because that is pretty much what they do.

One school district I work in does all computer charting (SNAP) and the other district I work in is ALL paper. I absolutely hate the paper charting and I never thought I would say that! Once you go SNAP, you never want to go back. :-)

We use SNAP. I like it 95% of the time.

I use Powerschool for health room visits. I like it better than paper but end up free texting almost everything because it doesn't use mnemonics. It would be so sweet to type SA and have stomach ache populate but our IT guys tell me that can't be done. I use paper for medications. I use paper for screenings. Anyone else using Powerschool that CAN use mnemonics, I would love to hear from you....

We use SNAP. I like it 95% of the time.

As I mentioned above, I miss SNAP so very much. SchoolBrains is great for the school, but it has a long way to go to be SNAP.

That said, I love computer charting.
