CHARLOTTE NEW GRAD (ATRIUM / NOVANT ) 2023/2024

Published

Hello, I am creating this form for nursing students in the Charlotte area to connect and discuss our insight on the interviewing process, units and our hospital of choice.

To start off, I am a 2024 new grad looking for insight on ATRIUM and Novant health. I do currently have an interview for Novant next week looking to work in the ER.

Do you know by chance what day it is? & what it consist of!

It's on January 27th at their Winston location, it says you get a chance to meet the cohort, tour the facility and they will have onsite interviews.

I applied to Atrium's critical care option on the very last day to apply, and I just received an email for ranking their ICU units 1-6 to interview. It says "As the units fill their positions, applications will be passed to choices 3-6 for consideration.”

Anyone have any idea what the starting pay is for Novant residency in the Winston market?

$31.80. $4 night differential, $1.25 weekend days. $5.25 weekend nights. No contract for sign on bonus but it's paid out over 18 months. If you have LPN experience it's credited a little higher. ?

Do you have any insight on relocation assistance? Is that also paid out over time? TIA

Yes, it's paid out within 30 days of employment

Up to $7500. I was offered $2500 and I currently live in Fayetteville area.

If you don't mind me asking what position did you get with Novant?

Thanks for all your input! I was just offered a position in the Summer 2024 residency. I have a phone call scheduled next week to discuss details of the offer. I'm currently PA, and the starting rates for RNs seems pretty low in NC all around ☹️ I was offered $43/hour including night shift differential for a job in PA as a new grad. It's a lot to consider, I really want to relocate.

You're welcome! NC is the trenches for sure. ??? we do have a lower cost of living however, although it has gotten much higher last couple of years. Once you get some experience in you can get internal contracts which are like $65-$95/hour with benefits at certain hospitals across the state.
