Hello Everyone!
I know I'm early but I'm super excited to begin nursing school. I was wondering if anyone else here is planning to apply to Charity for Fall 2012? Are you done with your prereqs? Taken the HESI? What's your profile score?
I have taken all of my prereqs but it has been 6 years since I took A&P II lecture/lab so I'm taking it now at Delgado. I'm taking the lecture online and I go on campus for the lab. We have only done one exercise in lab so far and I already feel like its not going to be very easy. I took the HESI on Monday and I did pretty well so I'm done with that thank God!
I calculated my profile score and if I get an A in the A&P lecture I'll have 70 points. If I get a B or C, I'll have 65 points. I'm super nervous because when I talked to the admissions lady at Charity she told me the cut off tends to be a bit higher for the Fall semester than the Spring. From reading the forum, it looks like the cut off for Spring 2012 was around a 55 so I'm worried that the cut off for Fall will be like 75!
Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet some of my future classmates!
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted. I've been trying to reply one by one but I don't want to miss anyone. If you were not accepted, don't give up. I'm hoping I will get my letter tomorrow and I'll be sure to post; good or bad. I'll have a bottle of Moscato either way since it works whether you're happy or sad, lol
tired of waiting- I don't like that they worded it like that. Is this the first time you've applied? Even so- that is disheartening to hear that from anyone! Everything does happen for a reason, though, and when we look back over time, we can see how things changed our lives and that things that we wanted so badly aren't always as good as they seemed. I hope you can come w us to Charity next semester and that they wise up about putting nasty remarks! This takes a lot of commitment and everyone that applies has poured their heart, soul, and blood, sweat, and tears (lots of them) into this. We all want it badly. They need to carefully consider that.
tired_of_waiting, I know you're really upset, but my brother-in-law was denied twice before being accepted. He didn't give up, and they finally let him in. I know that remark at the end stings when you read it though. I know that the profile cut-off was higher than it usually is too. Try to keep your head up. I've also heard of people in the past not geting accepted because someone in admissions calculated their score wrong, and they had to go down there, and were finally accepted on the spot. I don't know if that could be a possibility with your situation or not.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted!
Sadly, I was denied:crying2: but its not the end of the world. I either had a profile score of 60 or 65. Charity told me that I qualified but my profile score wasn't high enough since there were others who were more qualified than me and they have a certain amount of space for everyone. I was really suprised, at what they wrote at the end of the letter, to put it short they basically say that if you have applied several times to pretty much give up and change your career plans. I really had my heart set on Charity but because of that "nasty" remark Im reconsidering other schools now.
