Charity School of Nursing 2011

U.S.A. Louisiana

hi im new to this site and im majorly worried about getting into my nursing program at charity school of nursing for the fall 2011 class. I been denied two previous times and this is my 3rd attempt at getting in. My gpa is a 3.0 and I scored a 78 on my teas. I know my scores arent that great but they are better then when i applied my first and second time. I was wondering if it matters any to be denied the 1st and 2nd try. Would i have a better chance if i kept on trying? or does it start fresh every semister youre applying? my profile score is at 50 right now. Can anyone tell me what to expect and also anyone that has been denied before tell me what they did different and also what their scores were?

i just re-read my correction post and i still put fall 2011. i start in the spring of 2011. we had orientation on yesterday. sorry, good luck to all of you!!!

Hi,

I want to apply to charity school of nursing for Spring 2012, but I dont know if i will get in. I currently attend LSU SON and not liking it one bit. I have a 3.5 gpa and got a 78 on the teas score which is horrible, and still have to take A&P, but I am enrolled in A&P at LSU SON hoping to at least pass it. Could anyone who got in tell me if i have even a shot at getting in? I even have recommendation letters from Oshner and professors!!!! Thanks

Nishu, probably the best way to find out is to go to the Delgado/Charity SON website and download the form used to score applicants. If you score at least a 55, you stand a good chance of getting in. Higher score = increased likelihood! If you pass both the Phys and Anat courses at LSU, that takes care of the A&P 1 & 2 prereqs for Charity. Currently, Charity uses a straight scoring method (no interviews) to select applicants so you will know pretty much where you stand. Good luck!

Did we have to have recommendations with our application for Charity Spring 2012?! I seriously do not remember that being a requirement back in December when I turned in my app. The only other school I applied to that required 3 recommendations was @ LA Tech..I just saw where the person wrote about having Rec's from people at Ocshner, so it had me a little worried :) lol I still have time though if somebody would let me know something, even though I am almost 95% sure it wasn't a requirement, but I'll be in the area Monday the 28th and am bringing my final transcript before graduation to the nursing school. Thanks!

No recs.; just transcripts, TEAS score sheet, and application.

oh ya sorry no you dont have to have them, but the volunteer lady offered to write me one so hey it never hurts!

Nishu,

If you have a 3.5 GPA that's great. A 78 on the Teas is not the best, but it's OK, and I know people who got in with a 70,72, and 74. Just do your best on A&P and strive for at least B's. The more A&P you know, the better, but technically, you can make C's. Just keep in mind that you are competing with everyone else who is applying. Honestly, I think you have an excellent shot.

By the way, what is it about LSU that you dislike?

Good Luck
