Hey, just wanted to create this forum for people that are going to apply to Charity for Fall 2019. That's when I feel I will be ready to apply! I'm still working on my prereqs!
@Nurse2bBunny86Thanks! That's what I did for the LPN program and they accepted it. Just wanted to be sure.
This is my THIRD time applying! I had been told that since I took math 118 within a certain year, that it would always be counted. Turns out that was false and I applied both times missing a math course. In the past I thought I had a 70 or 75 which was wrong obviously. I've completed all csn courses, gotten a degree, and an 81 on my hesi. I had all A's and B's with 3 C's which puts my score at a 65. I was told by someone VERY reliable at charity that just about everyone with a 65 or higher gets in. Of course this depends on the number of applicants with higher scores but I believe the average score is a 70. I have known a couple of people who got in with a 60 also. Crossing my fingers I get in this time. I'm getting old and tired of waiting lol. I'm so ready to do this and become a nurse. It's the only thing in the world that Im passionate about!
Soo I got a call this morning, requesting that I come in to go over my papers and to get a reciept. I sent everything except the application (which was online) in the mail with my official transcripts from my other schools. I also submitted my self assesment and HESI scores to the email that was on the application as well. I was told on the phone that they do not accept applications in the mail? Doesn't it say that it may be submitted via mail on the bulletin? I hope this is not the case, because I am in Dallas right now! The lady I spoke with suggested I email Koren Thornton to see if anything could be done, which I did. Just putting this out there in case anyone else submitted theirs in the mail. I hope i don't have to make a 7 hour drive there and back!
@rachelalexis23 I think on the online application it says to submit those documents via email. But you are correct, it does say in the ADN Info Bulletin that you can mail the application and all the documents.

I handed my transcript over to them in person.

Wow, so sorry to hear that. 3rd times a charm, lets hope! Have you taken Math 120 or higher now that you know they won't accept your 118 class?

That is one thing I've noticed about Delgado/Charity; they often change their "rules" and "regulations" last minute and forget to update those new mandates throughout their website/bulletin/employees. So not everyone is on the same page with exactly how they want you to do things..
Hope you don't have to make the drive too. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
thanks! I still have not heard back. Other than my official transcripts, I emailed the other documents listed on the online application too when I applied. Hate to send another Email and sound like a pest, but I have to make arrangements quickly in regards to my childrens school transportation to and from school if I plan on making the trip there. I have family in the area and also wonder if its possible they just pick up the receipt or go up there, i am thinking probably not.

That’s good! I would imagine Stats being difficult, especially as a summer course.
Did they give you a specific reason why you didn’t get accepted when you received the denial letters? Did they put your profile score on the denial letter?

Tjb33090, I had my transcripts sent to my house and turned them in (unopened) with my application. They opened them there and checked it off my application packet, so you should be fine. I did see that on the website to send it to charity but then bulletin says to have them sent to your house ??♀️Confusing
